The hotel is modern and in a great location. Nice owner and free bicycles. Great for travelling around the area and we even went to Switzerland from there. Be aware that you need a car as the location is at the Northern end of Lake Como so the area is more local and less tourist focused - quite nice.

Absolutely loved my experience at Locanda Della Maria. During my search for a hotel in Lake Como, I found most of the accommodations to be outdated and super expensive. Locanda Della Maria is not only extremely affordable relative to other options, but it is contemporary and very clean! To enter the Hotel Excelsior Splendide is to experience the gently fading grandeur of another age. Yes, we had a 'room with a view' of the lake, with the ferries and hydrofoils, the passeggiata, the sun setting over the early 20th Century and George Bloody Clooney's villa somewhere over there. We’ve been on a tour of different countries and this hotel was one of our favorites! The staff was so nice, and consistently went above and beyond. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the lake from our room, but we spent most of our time on the patio downstairs anyway. We’d recommend this place to anyone!

One of the nicest places we have stayed in Italy. Very close to the Swiss border and the town of Lugano. Facilities were excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. The grounds were manicured. Spacious apartment at the top of one of the beautiful winding pathways from the main boat terminal . Location couldn’t be better. French press and another coffee machine for use. In-room Washing machine for your dirty clothes and a big balcony to dry them like the locals. Staff is super helpful, you can reach them after hours on WhatsApp and they respond quickly. Highly recommend for a family of 3
