Old hotel in an old mountain top town. Given the limitations of this environment the Cisterna is a great little hotel that met all of our needs .The Cisterna is located in Cisterna Square in town close to sights, dining and a valley view walkway. The rooms had a great rustic look and feel of the Tuscany country side plus breakfast offered was awesome and extremely good. I would recommend staying there and definitely would book it again.
Limited transportation and the taxis were extremely expensive they will charge 165 euros one way for 30 minute drive. If you plan to go to Tuscany you need a car btw most cars are manual I don’t know how to drive it so I was stuck in the hotel for few days. To use public transportation you need to walk 39 minutes and is a lil dangerous because they don’t have side walk in the 15minutes from your trip.
Horrible! Do not go there! Because if you stay there once, your standards will rise and you will have hard time comparing other hotels to this one which exceeded all standards. Do not get fooled by its 3-star status, as the rooms, deco and services would definitely compete with at least a 4-star counterpart. We cannot recommend this hotel enough. The price was so worth it. The resort has a delicious restaurant, comfortable and luxurious accommodations, a lovely bar, relaxing pool area, and the most amazing Tuscan hills view. We can attest that the romantic sunset they promote is spot on. There is a quaint downtown a 10 minutes walk away as well. It was conveniently located to Florence and many other Tuscan locations. It was amazing to get an authentic Tuscan experience.
This hotel was excellent I have nothing negative to say about. the rooftop pool was nice the bar on the rooftop was very nice. the bartenders there gave excellent service the sandwiches they sell at the bar were delicious. The breakfast buffet was good in the morning. I went in July so it was hot the air conditioning in the room was excellent “hard thing to find in Italy” I would stay here again.
The staff was very nice. The hotel was very good. The location was fine, it was in a quiet place but walkable to all the surrounding points of interest. The lobby and the room were fine. The variety of the breakfast (buffet) was very good. I just didn't like the furniture of the room since it was a mixture of some different styles. The bathroom was nice, modern but one of the doors of the shower was missing so when we took a shower we spilled water all around.
Amazing in every way. The beauty of waking around is unlike any other. When we got there after a long day of traveling we had just missed the lunchtime to eat, and when went to shower the handle broke off- this is not a complaint. This place is amazing, and was a great deal in the off season. We paid €120 for a very nice room with a great big shower and a little private patio. The downside is being a long way from Florence’s attractions and restaurants. The closest place to eat was an 8 minute walk. If you have a car and want to be away from the madness of the tourist areas this is your place. VERY quiet.
