A hidden gem in an old style Hawaiian hotel by Hilo Bay. The room was impeccable in cleanliness, amenities and comfort. Beautiful surroundings on Banyan Drive with so much outdoor activity at your doorstep.

This isn't a hotel. It is closer to an AirBnb/High-End Hostel. Either way, it is awesome. We stayed in the guest house. The bed is amazingly comfortable and I slept great. Cute, cute!! A true relaxing, scenic gem. Came from a big resort to this - - a lovely contrast. Near the volcano tour/state park. No TV, but that is their philosophical charm. Nice homemade bkft., older/quaint, clean - would definitely return!!

We stayed here for almost two weeks. Kelly was amazing. She was always whipping up different types of breakfasts. She was so cute and so talkative. Her food was really good. This is a wonderful place to stay in Puna. It is in the heart of the area and they regularly host events, which can be fun to attend. They have a cafe at the reception area with some healthy food options, mostly pre-made.

Was with daughter and grand twin girls in there big rental house for week near Pahoa by coast. Decided to stay extra 5 days on short notice as Kilauea volcano was lighting up Lava lake. Did not need 400$ nite place as by myself. Found Hilo Vacation Rental at 85$ nite on Expedia for room queen bed, lots of storage, Tv, internet fast and porch area French doors to dry snorkel stuff. Was shared common areas and bath was very nice and never had problem with guests as seems was always available....

No bells or whistles - basic accommodation. Had free breakfast which was good but had weird system. Still we were able to eat enough.

The staff was so friendly. There were lots of animals: peacocks, cats, frogs, geese. We loved it! We booked it to be closer to Volcanoes National Park, without realizing there was no road that cuts across. We had to go amidst to Hilo in order to go back down to the Volcanoes, so it wasn't the most convenient, but we loved the vibe!

Booked this room thru Expedia 10 minutes before showing up at the place. We were warmly greeted by the owners and they assisted us in taking our luggage in. They let us chose between the 2 rooms they had available. They were amazing hosts. They offered us hot and cold beverages and snacks. They even drove us into town and dropped us off. If you want a unique experience with then this is the place for you. Volcano Inn is located in the middle of the rainforest, which is amazing. Jon and Lauren were friendly and super helpful. It was a wonderful experience and I will certainly be returning!

Blonde lady in the gift shop not friendly when checking in and out. She was talking to another male employee about other employees. Discuss business about training modules. Not friendly at all. Did not feel welcomed at all. In fact felt we we interrupting her day and she did not want to be bother with us. Spend a lot of money to stay her and was not welcomed. I wanted to purchase several items in the gift shop and passed.

We stayed in the Ohia Ranch Retreat room. This was easily the most beautiful room we’ve ever stayed in. The aesthetic of the stained wood beams, hard wood floors and furnishings was outstanding. There was a real attention to detail. The bed was also tied for the most comfortable bed we’ve slept in and reminds us that we have to replace our bed at home sometime soon. Large clean room with access via a veranda to a tree shaded backyard with tables and a barbeque. Best breakfast with a variety of generous choices of eggs, meats , fruits or cereals, jams and cream cheese ( whatever is in the fridge as a fair game). The cottage is located within 3 minute walk from a beach next to million dollar homes., and a short drive to other beaches, parks and waterfalls, museums and everything else the east coast of Hawaii has to offer.
