Wonderful stay at MonkBridge House. Paul and Fiona were incredibly warm, friendly, and knowledgeable hosts who made us feel very welcome. The breakfasts were delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The rooms were bright, spotless, and well-equipped with everything we needed. We especially loved the thoughtful touches like the freshly baked shortbread cookies in the room. Highly recommend for anyone visiting York.
Wonderful place to spend a coupe of noght! The staff are all so helpful and friendly! The chef prepares an amazing breakfast each morning, too! The rooms are clean, lovely and comfortable! I highly recommend this BnB. My husband and I had a wonderful two night stay!
hotel/bed and breakfast has nice friendly atmosphere, excellent breakfast, and is in walking distance of old town York. Only issue is limited parking in back, but they managed somehow by having cars that were leaving earlier closest to exit path. Helpful with things like where to get laundry done, where to go for meals, and unusual sites in old town that we would have never thought of. Will definitely stay there again.
Very convenient place to stay if visiting York. Two minute walk to the walled city. Nice, offstreet, parking at a very reasonable price. Staff couldn't be friendlier. Would definitely stay there again if we went back.
Very nice room ("Guy Fawkes")- comfy bed, great bathroom. The hotel is nicely appointed, great, quirky interior decor. The location could not be better for attractions and dining.
One caveat- those with arthritis may find the doors a problem. The knobs are round, slick and somewhat difficult to turn. Plus, the doors are heavy.
