Lovely 2 night stay. We were kept informed about reception being closed when we arrived and given clear instructions. Very friendly staff and really good breakfast. We’ve stayed here before and will definitely be returning. The hotel is in a fantastic location, making it an ideal base for exploring the area while still offering a relaxing and comfortable stay. The rooms are lovely—clean, comfortable, well maintained and equipped with everything you need. The amenities are excellent, and the breakfast is a real highlight, with a terrific selection and consistently high quality. What really makes this hotel stand out, though, is the staff. They are genuinely amazing: welcoming, friendly, attentive and always happy to help. As returning guests, it’s particularly nice to receive such consistently excellent service. Another thoroughly enjoyable stay and an easy recommendation. We’re already looking forward to returning again!

Really nice place 10-15 minute walk from train station. 10 minute walk in the central York. Rooms nice and clean with Sofa. No staff on site for checkin which is no issue for me personally as they sent over instructions, my only point would be it’s not totally clear how to input the code they give you until you work out how to do it. Maybe just me but I’m guessing not. The Full English Breakfast was very good standard and freshly cooked. Staff in the morning were polite and helpful. I would stay here again for sure.

Good, clean and convenient hotel. Good for getting around and friendly and helpful staff. Doesn't have a lot of facilities but not a surprise as its a charming and small hotel. We were there just the one night and can't complain...it was a good experience. Just felt the parking was costly at £20 per night, which is probably double I would realistically expect to pay, if anything given its part of the hotel property.

This is a comfortable hotel, outside the city center (and the crowds and noise). A short walk (20 minutes) brings you to the heart of York. Conveniently close to the train station. Quiet, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and helpful staff. It was during a heat wave and they found two small fans for us which were lifesavers. Tea and cold water always available.

Overwhelming hot bedrooms (during this heatwave) with little ventilation to the point of us almost quitting during the night. Traffic noise in front bedrooms. No staff on site after 6pm.

The hotel is full of quirky little seats and corridors. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at ease. The room was one of the best sizes and layouts for the cost we've stayed in the the bathrooms are excellent. The showers are double size walk in with waterfall nozzles and excellent finish. Would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed in room 1. We had read some bad reviews, but we had no problems. It was on the ground floor (no stairs) next to the front door. We both had a good nights sleep. There were the usual hot drinks facilities in the room. There was a walk modern walk in shower. The staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful and we were given fresh milk on arrival. Breakfast (English cooked) was wonderful and well presented. There was secured parking at the rear of the property at the cost of £20 a day. The hotel is on the outskirts of York, about a 15 to 20 minutes walk in a nice area.
