10/10 Exceptional

Lovely place, immaculately clean and well presented. A really pleasant surprise as I didn’t know the area and wasn’t sure what a hotel/pub would be like but it was a really nice stay, with a genuinely friendly team. Breakfast (which was included within what I thought was a really reasonable price anyway) was cracking! Highly recommended.

Staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Wendy and Andy and the ladies who served and cleaned. I stayed seven nights and felt like I was coming home each evening. The room with pullout couch for my sister was roomy and we had lots of space to spread out. The cooked breakfast included in the price was amazing and I really appreciated the vegetarian menu with several choices of dishes. The location was perfect within walking distance of the train station. I would definitely recommend the Union Inn and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Our room was spacious and lovely and clean, as was the bathroom. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming. It looked as if our room had been recently renovated and the bedding and towels looked new. The Tvworked well and we were able to access bbc iplayer and itv x etc. All in all a very good hotel,we will certainly be back.

Excellent parking facilities at rear of Inn, excellent outdoor beer garden. Hosts very welcoming and willing to go the extra mile to enhance your stay. Rooms had just been renovated and were very nice and clean with lots of little extras, bed, bathroom, furnishings etc were all really nice. Location is good as you have other pubs, restaurants and shops within touching distance. Free parking at the back was secure and the staff were very friendly. I missed the included breakfast so can't comment on that.
