"What an incredible place to stay! The property was beautiful and the house had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. "I highly recommend The Trogon Lodge. The staff at the reception desk, the restaurant and the bar/café were super kind and helpful. The new manager is doing a great job. Delicious food: sopa azteca, sauteed trout with veggies, chicken stew, egg omelettes, for example. The trout could not be fresher since the hotel has its own trout ponds. (If you like juicy trout better ask the chef to cook it for less time.) The hotel is located at 2,200 meters above sea level (7,000 feet), at the edge of a crystal clean river, with a soothing sound and view areas with chairs to relax. Gardens and mountains around it are spectacular. The beds are very comfortable making it hard to get up. Many stairs and small hills to reach the upper rooms. The trails can be challenging, and I recommend using hiking boots there. Again, highly recommended."
