Sextantio Le Grotte Della Civita in Matera was one of the most unique and unforgettable hotels we've ever stayed in. The property is a beautifully restored series of caves that blend old-world charm with just the right amount of modern comfort, making you feel like you've stepped back in time while still having everything you need. The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay.. from arranging pickup at the parking garage to carrying our luggage to our room, to being incredibly communicative before and during our visit. Dinner and breakfast at the on-site restaurant were both stunning, and after five trips to Italy, we can honestly say the breakfast spread and setting here might be the best we've ever had in the country. - Matt & Monique"

But the hotel is beautiful and the rest of the staff, specially all the ladies at reception were wonderful attentive hosts. Location is perfect with the sea right in front of you and you can walk to downtown."

Didn't know the spa was separately charged so cannot say it was a great feature. Wifi could be better. We walked down to the hotel but suggest to ask for the shuttle which was very nice."
