Great location and the room was spotless as well as the bathroom. Dined in their restaurant which was so delicious. Very helpful staff and fun town to visit. Right on the sea and filled with atmosphere. Great place to spend the day and evening.
This place blew us away!!! Beautiful house and the room (and view!) was stunning. The owners were so incredibly friendly and helpful. And holy cow, THE BREAKFAST!! Some of the best food we’ve had on this trip!! It was a very easy walk to town - we were there to see the Puffins on the Isle of May, and getting to the boat in the morning was very easy. Overall, we were sad we were only staying one night. We considered trying to change our plans, just to stay another night at that house and eat...
Great stay!! Room was spacious, enjoyed having a kitchen, internet worked great, everyone was incredibly nice, and a dog to play fetch with just made it even more special. 10 minutes from St. Andrew's. Will stay again on my next trip to Fife. Thanks for making this such a special part of our trip!

We’ve never felt more at home in a hotel than we did at the Balcomie Links Hotel. The owners—Mike and Debbie—create an atmosphere of family and warmth.
Debbie’s exquisite cooking is Scotland’s best kept secret, while Mike does a mean pour of the pint. Understand that the entirety of Crail has poor reception no matter where you go, so the WiFi and cable TV at ANY of the hotels...
The location is amazing, across from the water and the links. The bar and restaurant were great, good food and drinks, although a bit pricey. Love the welcome drink and tour. Didn't use the gym, but it looks very nice. We borrowed the bikes to ride around the beach and there was someone on hand to tune them up for us quickly. Our only issue was that our laundry seemed to get misplaced for a bit and we didn't get it within 24 hours. Otherwise it was seemless and super lovely.
Matt was a wonderful host...so friendly and helpful...made us feel right at home :) He makes a yummy breakfast! Wish we could have stayed more than one night and would definitely rebook if we have the chance to return to Scotland!
The lobby area has great spaces to lounge, read a book, or meet friends. The dining areas and food were excellent. My only gripe (small in nature) was that the shampoo was unusual in that it was in a tube and did not provide sufficient suds upon use.

Simply an exceptional spot for a family stay in St Andrews. The apartment is clean, modern, and exceptionally quiet. Best stay of our Scotland trip and the hosts have the process and amenities fully dialed.
For my "western" friends, this is a "small" place...as expected. Set that aside, because it is St. Andrews and that's what you get. This BnB style hotel and restaurant is the pinnacle of "big things come in small packages". An excellent staff, well-appointed rooms, breakfast, top-notch dinner, and you are 3 minutes walk from the 1st tee of the Old Course. It really doesn't get better than this. It's a golfer's dream. Absolutely recommend and will love to stay here again.
Beautiful view of the ocean from our room. The windows could be opened to here the tide rolling in and the gulls. Very conveniently located to both the university and the old course for golf. Super friendly staff that took excellent care of us every day and night. Highly recommend to anyone visiting St. Andrews.
