An excellent stay at The Kithmore, just blocks away from the Old Course in St Andrews. We received a warm welcome and friendly, helpful service throughout our stay. Room was comfortable, yet a bit tight to enable stretching after a round. Bed was amazing, as was the water pressure and temps for the shower. Portable fan was available to help with airflow. Walkable to the shops and restaurants in St Andrews. Do note there are only stairs, no lift, to get to your room. Would highly recommend.

The hotel just reopened in June and has potential to be a good option when staying in St. Andrews. However, the staff seem to be experiencing some hiccups. My husband and I waited for 15 minutes during check in for someone to come to the front desk. It was 4:30. I thought this might have been a one time issue but I was waiting in the lobby the second day at 4:00 when other costumers wanting the check in kept asking if anyone works the front desk. Clearly the hotel is understaffed. The staff always apologized for any inconvenience but it is a big problem for a new hotel trying to make a good impression. The room was very small but doable. I stayed in the standard comfort room. The bathroom was nicely redone but a very tight fit. The towel warmer did not work and made it impossible to reuse towels because the bathroom was very humid despite there being a fan and window. There was an issue with the safe and the staff said it was common and just acknowledged that we would have to reset it each time with a universal reset code they gave us. This didn’t seem very secure. The instructions are wrong on the safe and the staff didn’t know how to fix it. But if you look it up online, you must use a 6 digit code instead of a code between 3-8 like the instructions say at the hotel. The room wasn’t refreshed one day even though the door placket was changed at noon. Overall, the stay was fine. Location was amazing. I have hopes the staff will work out the kinks.
