We had an enjoyable 5-night stay at the Port Gaverne Hotel. The service was excellent and the food was very good. We enjoyed the variety of offerings at breakfast and the Sunday Roast. This is not "pub food." This is an old hotel and be advised that the rooms are small and up steep stairs, although the staff helped with luggage. This hotel is in a great location near the beach and only a 10 - 15 minute walk from town. There are coastal walks nearby along with restaurants to visit and watch the sun set over the ocean. The head receptionist gave us a wonderful welcome and was very informative about the hotels facilities and the immediate area. The room was a tad hot due to unseasonably warm weather and no air conditioning, but otherwise very comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay here again.
