Another excellent dog friendly stay at the Gateway. Staff were welcoming to us and our dogs (they weren't just tolerated). Our room was lovely, perfect temperature (we stayed September), decorated smartly and cleaned well with thoughtful extras like pillow chocolates. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely, the breakfasts amazing, the staff always happy to help and the location just off the A590 was perfect for exploring the whole Lake District. My only rejoinder was that the stairs to the rooms are a little challenging for someone like me who is mobility impaired. Great hotel opposite the train station and within easy walking distance to the town centre. The room had everything you needed, a comfy bed and a lovely bath to relax in. The breakfast was varied and the hot food was individually cooked for you. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
I stay here frequently and it is always a great experience. Friendly, professional staff, excellent food and a great location. I am always happy to introduce friends to the hotel. Of course being able to walk to the farm shop is a bonus.
After a busy week exploring Scotland, my boyfriend and I decided to make a stop for a couple of day in the quiet town of Windermere to get some rest and relaxation before continuing onto our busy adventures down in London. Jericho was just what we needed. The entire place was beautifully decorated and very very well kept. Our room was so cozy (but spacious) and luxurious--I probably could have just moved in. We were very satisfied with our stay at Bowness Guest House. After a long, rainy day of exploring, this was the perfect cozy spot to warm up and recharge. Our room was well furnished and overlooked the beautiful courtyard. The location was great, as we were able to park in the neighborhood and walk down to the waterside within 10 minutes. The host is also kind and helpful. Definitely recommend!
A truly amazing property. Unparalleled service, exquisite country setting, the most wonderful food and presentation. We were here two different nites within a week and were welcomed back on our second stay like old friends. Deco is amazing...cannot say enough about this wonderful property. Be sure to visit the llamas!
