The host cpuld not have been more delightful and accommodating- Melanie was charming and quite personable. The rooms were so unique and comfortable. The experience was more a bed and breakfast than a hotel.
The hotel is in between Stonehenge and Salisbury. You will need a car to get to it, but you will also need one to see Stonehenge and Salisbury. Renting a car was a great idea, it let us see all the great places around Stonehenge, including the beautiful cathedral of Salisbury. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable and it has free wifi. There are a few places to eat right around the hotel that are walk distance.
Everything about The George Inn Mere was perfection. It's so mall and quaint, yet feels like the home you never had. The rich history of the hotel, the staff, the beds, and rooms. All perfection. If you are looking for a small local place that is off the beaten path, this is it. You won't regret it.
What a charming property! The cottages are adorable on the courtyard. They rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The pub was friendly and delicious.

I absolutely loved this hotel and would return in a heartbeat. This is the place to go if you want to feel pampered and taken care of. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They make you feel at home. Their breakfast menu is amazing. The food is delicious and beats many of the cafes in the neighborhood. Their location is great- they are walking distance from everything, but still located in a quiet street where you can avoid too many tourists.
