"Our first experience of Sri Lanka and historic Galle Face Hotel was outstanding well managed and maintained to high quality. All the staff from reception to pool were amazing so helpful and courteous.
The buffet restaurant is amazing Salt water Pool! It is about 50 mins from airport about 3 hours to Sigiriya and Dambulla for the rock fortress. We loved it!"

"Mixed experience.
The room was a good size, the pool area was pleasant and never felt overcrowded, and the gym was modern and well equipped. Breakfast also offered a wide choice, and staff throughout the hotel were generally polite and welcoming.
What let it down was the overall standard of service. Check-in felt unpolished and slightly disjointed — we weren’t given basic practical information such as breakfast times, where breakfast was served, or the opening hours for the pool and gym.
The breakfast room was very busy and we had to find a table ourselves, which felt out of step with what you would expect from a hotel at this level.
The bedroom itself had a noticeable stale smell that was difficult to shift given the windows cannot be opened. We also experienced intermittent issues with the Wi-Fi, which was frustrating.
So overall, disappointing, particularly compared to other Shangri-la hotels.
What I would say was that we provided this feeeback directly to the hotel and the GM personally acknowledged the issues which was appreciated from a customer service perspective. "
