High Tor Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. I arrived a few hours before check in and I was allowed to go up to my room early which was nice as it meant I didn’t have to carry my heavy bag around I ate out but there is a lovely Indian restaurant on site for those that wanted to eat in Bed was a little on the hard side for me but I still slept okay…and the bath was the best part of the whole room specially after a long day of hiking"
The Old Lockup
10/10 Excellent
"Had a great stay here, would recommend it. Clean, tidy, comfortable bed and a great breakfast."
New Bath Hotel & Spa, a member of Radisson Individuals
10/10 Excellent
"great location, lovely staff and great food! pool looked amazing so will try it when we have more time!"
The Peacock at Rowsley
10/10 Excellent
"Friendly staff and very good breakfast buffet. Room is very comfortable!"
Gulliver's Resort Matlock Bath
8/10 Good
"The park itself was fun , but our room & breakfast experience fell short. Room felt dusty, hair in the bath & cobwebs between the fridge & the unit. Very disappointing breakfast, we were immediately told there were no pastries, ( full English breakfast was available) my tea came with long life milk & when I asked for fresh , I was told there wasn’t enough as it was being kept for cereal. Only white toast available with butter completely melted. The cereal took a long time & I had to ask twice. When it finally arrived, it came with a half cup of milk I was told there was very little due to no delivery. We were so disappointed that the following morning we decided to skip breakfast at Gulliver Kingdom and went somewhere nearby instead."
Grouse & Claret, Derby by Marston's Inns
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely big room. Very friendly staff and good choices for breakfast. Lots of parking spaces."
Oakhill
10/10 Excellent
"A lovely place to stay and we were in a quirky ground floor room in the old stable block which was very nice although susceptible to noise from adjoining rooms. The grounds are lovely to relax in and the food was very good (although avoid the poor, undercooked apple pie). Good breakfast. Three minor criticisms. There was no sink plug, there was no shelf in the bathroom to put your own toiletries on (we had to use the top of the radiator) and, like many hotels, in a double room there was only one chair !! However we will definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone."
The Beeley Inn
8/10 Good
"Hotel is a nice building (set of buildings) in a gorgeous, quiet village (other than the hotel / bar). Our room was over the bar and whilst there was some noise, it wasn’t too loud. The bedrooms are good rather than stunning and have a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, nice biscuits and fresh milk (hooray). Our room had a shower but no bath. Breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly and professional. We were happy with the stay, but left feeling it was a bit expensive for what it was."
The Fountain Tea Rooms B&B
10/10 Excellent
"Well equipped well decorated double room in quite location . Friendly welcome staff and owner are lovely nothing to much trouble. Two pubs within 5 mins walking distance. For walkers plenty to do around the area coming back for lunch at the fountain tea rooms a good choice"
