Learn more about Pinecrest
Granite peaks frame the glassy waters of Pinecrest Lake, where families cast fishing lines from docks that seem unchanged since the 1950s. The lake's sandy beach fills with picnickers in summer, while winter transforms nearby Dodge Ridge into a ski playground without the Tahoe crowds or prices. Hiking trails wind through Stanislaus National Forest, revealing hidden waterfalls that reward those willing to venture beyond the parking lot. Kids squeal with delight at Leland Snowplay's tubing hills, a perfect introduction to winter fun without the learning curve of skiing. Yosemite National Park lies within day-trip distance, though many visitors find themselves reluctant to leave Pinecrest's simple pleasures – especially the sunset alpenglow that turns the lake into liquid gold.

Rush Creek Lodge and Spa at Yosemite
"Loved the hotel, right next to the huge Yosemite park. Loved the SPA, spent hours there using a day pass and felt renewed. I did try to book a facial but got my signals crossed with the booking agent and the facial provider went home before my appointment. Grateful for the spa because the hotel pool was overrun with children having a specularly raucous time. Great place for families to wear kids out before going to sleep."
Yosemite Lakes RV Resort
"Clean room and well prepared cooking tools."
Aladdin Inn
"The hotel was fine, but that's not why I'm writing this review. The hotel was full, due to a nearby wildfire and the influx of firefighters to help out. When we got to the room in the late afternoon, it appeared to have been cleaned but the beds hadn't been made. A maintenance man was in the hallway and we mentioned it to him. Long story short, the maid had left unexpectedly, but the maintenance man and the front desk clerk dropped what they were doing and made up the beds. Outstanding customer service, thank you!"
Yosemite Westgate Lodge
"I will be back next year for another 2 days . My wife and I were very happy! Thank you 😊"
Under Canvas Yosemite
"Very recommended! Such a gem! We enjoyed and didn’t want to leave!!"
Arnold Meadowmont Lodge
"Super clean, very pleasant decor, helpful & pleasant staff"
Buck Meadows Lodge
"Affordable, comfortable, and convenient stay 20 mins from the Big Oak Flat Entrance to Yosemite. Check in and out is done at the Yosemite West Gate Lodge on the other end of the parking lot. Amenities are also at the Lodge (we used the ice machine, the pool looked nice). The room had a microwave, Keurig coffee machine, and a small fridge (though the temp was warm, we kept our food in our cooler). Not fancy, but works for a quick sleep before heading into the park."
Wildwood Inn
"Well appointed location and friendly helpful staff. The kids upstairs were a bit noisy running around but that is on the parents."
