Most attractions are easily accessible on foot, with TCAT buses connecting to Cornell and Ithaca College when you need to venture further.

Fall Creek captivates visitors with its historic Victorian and Craftsman homes lining tree-shaded streets. The neighborhood borders the scenic Fall Creek gorge, where dramatic limestone cliffs and cascading waterfalls create perfect hiking opportunities. Ithaca Falls Natural Area offers peaceful waterside paths while DeWitt Park provides open lawns for relaxation. Nearby Sciencenter and Newman Municipal Golf Course add family-friendly options. Getting around is easiest on foot with tree-lined sidewalks connecting to downtown Ithaca within 15 minutes. Accommodations include charming bed & breakfasts in converted Victorian homes with authentic period furnishings. While dining options are limited within the neighborhood, the Ithaca Farmers Market and Commons are just a short walk away.
South Hill
Ithaca's South Hill neighborhood is known for its coffeehouses and restaurants, and entices visitors with attractions including Buttermilk Falls State Park and Butterfield Stadium.
South Hill
South Hill wraps you in classic college town vibes thanks to Ithaca College dominating the landscape. Students buzz between modern academic buildings while the Handwerker Gallery and School of Music add cultural flair to your visit. Nearby Buttermilk Falls State Park offers gorgeous waterfall hikes and cooling swimming holes when campus life feels too buzzy. TCAT buses connect you to downtown Ithaca, though the neighborhood's steep hills reward climbers with breathtaking Cayuga Lake views. Budget-friendly pizza joints and coffee shops cater to student appetites. Limited accommodations mean planning ahead, with bed & breakfasts in quiet residential areas offering the best non-campus lodging options.

East Ithaca
East Ithaca offers a peaceful retreat from downtown's bustle with tree-lined streets and cozy mid-century homes. The East Hill Recreation Way provides scenic trails for morning walks while Six Mile Creek Vineyard tempts you with local wine tastings. Cornell University's influence creates a unique academic vibe, with Reis Tennis Center offering recreational opportunities away from campus crowds. Family restaurants serve up comfort food within this residential haven, though you'll want to venture downtown for evening dining options. Most visitors opt for charming B&Bs or home rentals that blend perfectly with the leafy surroundings. A car is recommended, as bus service is limited despite the easy drive to downtown attractions.
