I don’t know what isn’t too like. Everything about this place screams cute and quaint. Just perfect for the garden isle. I read someone on another review complain about the chickens… if you don’t like the chickens then go to another island because they are everywhere! Beautiful stay
I only needed the room for one night, so I didn't stay there long. It was fine for just a bed and a shower, but the bathroom was really small. Also, there is no elevator, so you may need to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. Parking was hard to find when I arrived at 9 pm, but there were signs that parking was available behind the building.
Amazing location, super friendly staff, loved being literally on the beach club, the restaurant is fantastic and overall the property is so well maintained, convenient and a must for an affordable stay!!!
Just do it!!!!!!! Waking up to ocean background was like heaven. The bed was amazzzzinggg! We were lucky enough to drive around the whole island and honestly this location was just the best. We were able to confirm that staying on the east of the island in Kapa’a was the most convenient. Although it does rain here and there it does clear away. You are very close to the airport and walking distance to great food options. If it matters a 2 minute drive to starbucks ;) We are coming back for sure...
I booked this hotel shortly before our trip for New Year time. It’s quite pricey at this time. But it’s one of the best hotels in Poipu area. They do have the amazing pools which my boys love it. Our studio room is as big as we expected but it does has a queen sofa bed and mini kitchen and laundry. The restaurant at the pool has good food with reasonable price. Please shop at the small grocery store in the lobby. The grocery stores miles away are not cheaper than in the hotel. Highly recommend...
This is easy. My wife and I are near 50 and have traveled to Hawaiian Islands five other times. We are able to travel a lot and have stayed in hotels on 6 continents.
We agree that Koa Kea is the BEST place either of us has ever stayed! If you have kids and want a water park, go next door to the Sheraton or the Marriot. If you want peaceful, beautiful, couples luxury with a superlative staff and facilities and a top notch restaurant, GO to this boutique hotel. We will DEFINITELY go back...
This was our first time staying at a resort and we had a fantastic experience. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the restaurants were yummy
It was truly lovely. Property so clean, bonus was we had a full kitchen (we weren’t on the resort side so can’t speak to that) and had access to grills. Like being in a condo but with maid and other hotel services. Sunny side of island, on a nice small stretch of beach and bear to others. Had a chill vibe but is a pretty big hotel. Sparkling clean. We had a great time.
I liked the location, the ocean view. Everything was kept really nice. The only thing I would have liked is a microwave in our room and maybe a little bigger refrigerator. Getting left on the highway from the resort was a little tricky at times with the amount of traffic. Overall we really liked the property and the staff was alway helpful.
The ocean views here can't be more beautiful! Our two bedroom unit had a partial ocean view and we could see the ocean and Shipwreck Beach near the Hyatt Hotel. THe resort was perfect for our family vacation. The two bedroom unit was roomy for our three children. They loved the pool and koi pond. It's in Poipu which is the sunny side of Kauai. We would definitely stay here again especially if we find a similar great deAl! Great sea turtle watching just a few feet from our unit.
If you're looking to spend inordinate amount of $$ on a luxury hotel with the decadent and unnecessary status and frivolous amenities, this is probably not for you. If, however, you're looking for a clean, 2 story, fully (and I mean fully) furnished condo with a LR, K, 1/2 bath and 2 lanais and a front porch down, AND 2 BR's, a full bath/laundry room up, clean and extremely well-kept, close to everything - much of it in walking distance, then this IS for you. After having some reservations...
I read many reviews before arriving both good and bad. I feel those that rated it poorly were high-maintenance nit-pickers. We stayed two nights in garden, bldg 6, 2 dbl beds (told same broken record story "no king avail") , and, true, room and bathroom small but still very acceptable. Upgraded to bldg 1, 3rd floor, facing ocean for 6 nights. Spend it and don't settle. Not only is the room & bath so much larger.... hearing waves crash, sunset from balcony, whales every day all day long in...
