"Great location. Very easy to get to shops and food places. Pool and beach area were nice. Room was decent for the price. Lava restaurant was not the best in terms of food - overpriced. Overall would recommend."

"We loved the staff and the place has the potential to be gorgeous. Unfortunately, the carpet in the halls and rooms should have been replaced a while ago. The elevator was looked tore up and trashy. It's a really nice place that has been neglected on the upkeep. Some of the doorways of the rooms need the wood trim replaced and new door jams. A dinner restaurant on location would be fantastic."

"We had a ground level room the was very convenient for walking to the pool and the general area. Was very surprised and pleased to have a washer and dryer in the room because this was the last place we were staying on the trip and was nice to have a refresh! The pool was like a water park, I have never seen anything like that at a resort!"

"We were in a garden view room on the first floor, and it was very nice. It was great to have a cup of coffee on the lanai the morning, or sit in the evening and hear the music. Very convenient having the Marketplace right next door with shops and eateries. Kauai Shores is conveniently located on the island. Very close to the airport, not a far drive to beaches or other attractions. Would stay there again!"

"We stayed 7 nights at The Royal Sonesta in the one bedroom ocean view suite. It was incredible! The room was huge and had such great views of the beach. The desk staff was friendly and the service staff kept the rooms very clean. I highly recommend the Royal Sonesta!"
