Learn more about Atlantic Beach
Dive into the sun-soaked charm of this barrier island town where the historic Oceanana Pier offers prime fishing spots with Atlantic views. Fort Macon State Park combines Civil War history with pristine beaches - arrive early to explore the fortress before crowds appear. Kayakers paddle through calm sound waters while beachcombers scan for shells along Bogue Banks' sandy stretches. The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores reveals local marine life without the need for snorkel gear. After sunset, seafood restaurants serve the day's catch while locals share tales of legendary hurricanes survived. For a perfect afternoon, grab ice cream and wander to the public beach access points where the only schedule that matters involves tide charts and sunset times.

Atlantic Beach Resort
"This was a very good place to stay...we had a 2BR/2BA on the third floor which was great to be high where the breeze was cooler than below! Nice to have table outside if you wanted to sit out. Three TVs so accommodated us all nicely. Nice towels, soaps & lotions. An easy walk to the beach with access to outdoor showers. Multiple pools. A few minor things I'd wish were different: the elevator access and elevators were stifling hot. Small wall Acs are ancient and while on 24/7 did nothing to cool the space. Master bath had the light and vent on one switch and this can be disturbing at night or other times. NO bar in the shower! Ice took a long time to make and I'd advise someone turn it on BEFORE a check-in. VERY challenging coffeemaker! You are expected to clean-up before leaving including taking the trash out. And finally, we left behind some books and while there was a great app ("I Left My Stuff") to manage the return, the staff communications were muddled and contradictory."

"Everyone was so nice and the place was amazing!"
Crystal Coast Oceanfront Hotel
"The view is awesome, the hotel is cute, updated and very clean. Be prepared for very small rooms and tint, tiny bathrooms. Don't plan on being comfortable with more than 2 people. Other than that, it's a darling property and I'm already looking forward to my next stay."

Sand Dollar Motel
"We stayed in a 3 bed, 2 room unit that also had a kitchenette. It met our needs for a one night stay. The beds were comfortable and the sheets felt nice. We didn't use the kitchenette. The shower was nice. It's an older motel and very close to the beach. There was no hair dryer. I didn't ask if they had one we could use so I don't know if that would have been an option. Be aware that if you book on Expedia you will be paying more than you agreed to on Expedia once you get there. Expedia said it would be $157 for the room but the hotel charged me $172. Not a huge difference but I've never had that happen when booking through Expedia before. The lady at the office said that Expedia charges tax and that they do too?? I'm just glad it was no more of a difference in price. The lady also told me she could charge me $10 per person over 2 people but she didn't. When I booked on Expedia I listed 4 people and the room has 3 queen beds so they shouldn't charge extra since it's listed as a roon for up to 6."
