This is a diverse town with lots of good food and things to do. Coming into Abq from the west off I-40 quite a view. Evidently crime is a high rate just be vigilant. I have never had a problem. Sunsets are beautiful. I love the housing architecture.

We had a great time. Hiked the petroglyph trail and the volcano trail. Old town is charming. We also visited the atomic museum which fascinated my husband. The tramway up the Sandias was not operating so we have saved that for our next visit.

The local take on Mexican food is unlike anything you'll get anywhere else in the world. Order red, green, or Christmas-style chile and get both. If you find yourself there in the beginning of October, the Balloon Fiesta is not to be missed.

If you have a chance, go to the Sandia Crest, via tram or vehicle. The tram was down for maintenance when we were there, so we opted to drive to the top. 10,600 feet elevation and a simply unbelievable view. Also try Vernon's Speak Easy!

I love Albuquerque. The food here is great, the people are friendly, and if you ever need a place to visit, Old Town Albuquerque is great and El Santuario de Chimayó is not very far from Albuquerque.

The balloon festival was out of this world! Hiking the Petroglyphs National Monument was breathtaking. The New Mexican food was delicious. Driving was easy peasy!
"No complaints, only praise. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Pool and hot tub nice break from heat. Felt safe to park car. Breakfast was filling (only one suggestion would be eggs). "
