Coal Miners Cabins
10/10 Excellent
"This was the cheapest option in Longyearbyen, but I found it better than some of the other options. Yes it is a little further from the town but the room was warm and comfortable. I like that you can eat in or cook yourself and the breakfast was good value. I liked it."
Funken Lodge
8/10 Good
"Pillows are awful as is the comforter. Sheet quality is average at best. This is a great hotel but today hotel bedding is extremely important. Funken fails when it comes to quality bedding sadly. Heavy thick awful pillows. Small ones are hard. The comforter is hard and not goose down. They need to buy some quality down pillows and comforters. This is basic today especially for a 5 star experience. Even Mariott provides this. Time to invest. This is not acceptable."
Mary-Ann's Polarrigg
10/10 Excellent
"Nice place that gives you a sense of the old days in Longyearbyen,"
Svalbard Hotell - Polfareren
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great stay at Polfareren"
Svalbard Hotell - The Vault
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and provide a good variety of freshly prepared food. The only funny issue was the tv stations (in English) did not match the content. BBC presented American crime series while CNN followed live police events in various countries. If we return to Longyearbyen we will stay at the Vault."
Basecamp Spitsbergen Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Most gorgeous hotel with wonderful staff and I think the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back. First class."
