We picked Suederbraup as a base to travel North one day, east one day and then south. Each night returning to the same hotel. It worked out very well. The hotel is comfortable, clean, and friendly. The breakfast is very good, and the food in the restaurant is excellent.
Pleasant and accommodating reception, as it turned out to be the proprietor. Adding additional services (dinner & breakfast) was easy and made for an efficient final checkout. Dinner menu was great and had numerous local specialties with excellent service. Breakfast was equally bountiful with local dishes.

We found Al's Kloster quiet and peaceful. This beautiful bed and breakfast is just outside of Sonderborg (5-10 min), so you do need transportation... but, once you get here it is well worth it! It sits in a beautiful setting and there are trails, right from your door, that you can take down to the water and beyond, along the coast.
The rooms are all different. They are clean and best of all the beds are good... European style with a down quilt as a blanket. Enjoy!
I had the pleasure of staying two weeks at the Hotel Strand. The staff was wonderful, the location was very convenient, and the breakfast was so good. I will always here when visiting Sonderberg.
What a cozy, welcome place at the top of Germany! Everything is thoughtfully arranged, including a giant dog bed for our giant dog, a bag of toiletries, and à la carte breakfast on a cart each morning. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout, including accommodating an extension of our stay. This is a gem of a place that is highly recommended for any trip to the Flensburg area, or for any stopover between mainland Europe and Scandinavia.
