"Excellent two night stay. So lovely to find a hotel that’s very close and so easily walkable quickly into the City Centre but that also has plenty of parking next to the hotel!

"Clean. Room, helpfull staff. Close and walkable to city center and many things to see within the city. We attended a show nearby and many restaurants were near the hotel making it easy to book a meal and then attend the show. Walkable to and from the train station. We would definitely consider a future stays here."
"Great double room, more spacious than some hotel rooms. Had a large chair and wardrobe section aswell as plenty of room to move around. Bathroom was small but sufficient. Shower sprayed all over the floor even with the shutters closed but it was a decent shower. Staff were friendly and breakfast was lovely, plenty of selection and options for both continental and cooked items"

We had a room with a balcony which was nice. The lobby bar and restaurant were good and convenient. The well equipped gym facilities and pool/sauna were a nice bonus. Nespresso in the room was a step above typical hotel room coffee - though machine was a little hard to figure out at first. Convenient walking distance to train station and city centre. Nice to be in a quieter part of town. Overall a pleasant stay.
We had a great stay here with our two dogs. The staff was wonderful and we really enjoyed the breakfast every morning. Dinner and drinks were enjoyed every night. It’s in a good location to access hikes without driving anywhere.
The Moon has great character, a fascinating history (I'm distantly related to many of the past owners from the 1800s), excellent amenities, and excellent breakfasts. I enjoyed my dinners there, too. Josh and Emma from the staff were both very friendly and helpful to me. The parking is easy, the inn centrally located in the heart of the village, and lots of local characters stop by for a pint and folks from further afield for a meal. A quintessential Derbyshire experience. Not my first time...
We have no complaints on our stay, we only wished that it would’ve been for longer. Our room was extremely comfortable, breakfast was the best!
We will be back to explore the area and will definitely try and stay here again
Beautiful property in a beautiful village. Very large beer garden, large bathroom with a bath (instead of a standard shower). They provided a fan to partially compensate for lack of A/C (during a record breaking heatwave), but wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if ever in South Yorkshire. Easy FREE parking.
Loved my stay! The staff was super friendly and nice, felt very welcomed. The room was comfortable and clean. Parking was easy and convenient. The breakfast was perfect, I also dinned in the restaurant and loved everything. Banana Toffee Waffle dessert is well worth the calories!
