"Friendly and helpful host. Comfortable accommodation.
Fully equipped lodge with everything we need in our stay, if we knew that the kitchen is well equipped we should make our own dinner. "
"A good, well-run hotel. No criticisms. Also, we had a slight problem with a noisy resident in the next room to us. I contacted the night porter who quickly sorted things out, calmly, politely and effectively.
The restaurant is exceptionally good - way above the general standard of freezer to microwave meals you encounter so often."
"This property is down by the harbour with easy parking at front door. The property is over 3 stories with the bedrooms on the top floor. We left our luggage downstairs and just took up what we needed. The bathroom is on the second floor and if you need to use it during the night, it’s just a little inconvenient. There are 2 lounge areas in different floors which is also a little unusual. The kitchen could do with some extra accessories and basic supplies which would really make people’s stays more comfortable. There are only 2 wine glasses, a 2 bedroom apartment would assume more than 2 people would often stay. The 2 beer glasses, clearly stolen from pubs which don’t match! Just the little things, would be helpful to have some food wraps. The salt had water on it so unusable and the downstairs TV is difficult to use, some instructions would be helpful. Overall a reasonable option to put your head down for the night. "
"We stayed with them overnight and the accommodation was great, as was the breakfast.
We also had dinner here as it had great reviews for seafood. Sadly we were left quite disappointed as none of the food impressed and the sea bass was particularly bad. Our waitress was great, but there was some commotion behind the bar with the younger staff and you could tell that there was some conflict, just enough to make everyone uncomfortable without anything actually happening. I'm all for the younger generation to get work experience, but they still need to be professional.
We also had drinks in their pub and although everything was fine, it somehow had the feeling of walking into a local old man's pub where everyone knows eachother and looks at you suspiciously. Nothing happened but again, there was just something off about the atmosphere.
Overall I'd definitely recommend staying here, but not too sure about eating / drinking here. "
