It worked for an overnight stop and certainly a friendly greeting, with a good intro to the area and amenities. Room was okay and breakfast very good being personally delivered to your room. Only downside is if you have a bit of a phobia about cleanliness thus may not be the place for you, otherwise all okay for us.

Such lovely people! The landlady waited for me to arrive. I was given a room upgrade. Clean room, lovely shower with jets to massage my back and for breakfast the bacon stood out.. The fatty bit was perfectly crispy (how I like it) and tgere was even greek yoghurt for my muesli. Definitely will recommend !

Friendly, helpful hosts, cooked breakfast served to room was ok if you choose wisely. Room had a lovely harbour view, although could have been so much nicer. Room decor bit tired, cleanliness standard of shower unit and carpets poor. This B&B has potential to be fabulous but would only recommend using for 1 night if you're looking for a stopover on NC500

Being on my own with the dog, i was a little apprehensive. Absolutle no need. Booking in was easy. I was informed ofthe dog friendly places to eat. I was wvenoffered cutlery uf u wanted to order in. Breakfast was delivered to the room which is what they do for everyone. Was fresh and spot on poached eggs. Deffo recommend. Budget but good

Welcoming hosts but could use improvement on the cleanliness of the room. Ripped chairs, dirty carpets, dusty room. Breakfast was delivered to the room and was good until we noticed the green mould on the bread. A bit more attention the cleaning would go a long way.

Overnight on the NC 500

The Harbour Inn is a historic building and has a lot of character. I had the single room, #3, that had the bathroom across the hallway. The room itself has all the basics you need for coffee and tea, plus condiments and biscuits. The room has a view of the harbor. Breakfast was excellent! For the amount I paid and previous reviews, I was worried, but Ken and Virginia were welcoming hosts and you can't get something similar for the price in the US. If they were to give the place a refresher they could easily charge double the price.

Ok, but bathroom could do with a deep clean though. Toothpaste left around sink from previous occupancy. And the cabinet underneath was filthy. Mould in shower area which is easy cleanable. Dust around light fittings. Breakfast was very nice.

Tired accommodation.

The hosts tried their best to make our overnight stay a good experience, but sadly the accommodation let them down. The room window catch was broken and couldn't be be shut tight, or even opened. The whole place is run down. A well cooked breakfast on a trolley was delivered to our room, with the host dressed as a chef, was a nice touch and delicious. Excellent hosts, just the property a let down.

1 night stay on my way to John O'Groats. Single room. The host welcomed me at check-in and gave me all the relevant details, plus asked if I needed recommendations for dinner etc. Breakfast needed to be ordered via a form and left on the desk by 9pm. Option to choose from various cereals, drinks, cooked items etc. Breakfast was delivered to the room on time and was very tasty. The room was well stocked with tea/coffee/biscuits etc. The bed was comfortable and clean. The bed linen felt like it had been washed a few too many times though - in fact I would say this sums up the building as a whole - everything works but it is a little bit tired. Perfectly adequate for me though! Private bathroom was across the hall from my room. Lots of space, plenty of hot water. Overall perfectly pleasant stay and I would use again.
