"There was quite a bit of noise from the construction of the main hotel opposite with a lot of dust blown around. This likely to continue until that part of the hotel is completed in September."

"This stay is okay if you like a nature/ jungle type vibe. My room had ants everywhere! I was only there one night and moved to Alaia for the rest of my trips! I’m into a more luxury stay but if you are okay with ants and wildlife and poor air conditioning in the units the. You will be fine. I think because the way the units are made, it’s hard to keep the air inside. The property is very nice tho. But I’d prefer more luxury. I had a standard king room. And I didn’t notice the ants until it was time to gather things for checkout because the room is so dark so I had to clean all my things and re fold and shake out all of my things. Needless to say, I couldn’t wait to get away from the property."
"I mean. Would I stay here again? No. But it wasn’t terrible. The pool is in the middle of the rooms where people can see you. The big pool. The small pool is awkward as well. The bar closes at 5. Which is dumb. I didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant but I heard it wasn’t that good. It was a lizard in my room. It gets the job done as far as a hotel but it’s nothing special at all. Very basic room. Luckily I was only there to sleep mainly. Because it’s honestly nothing special. The bathroom is small too. & the staff is ok, they seem like they don’t want to be bothered kind of. It’s nice that they have security all day. Also it’s kind of far from main town. So that’s a downside too. Overall I would give it a 2.5/5."
"Overall, my stay at Sunset was truly amazing. Felt super safe while solo traveling and relaxed at all times! The atmosphere was welcoming. All employees were respectful & friendly."
"Kindness
The staff was so helpful and kind. People always say this but they are genuinely kind and thoughtful. Our room and our view was amazing. The pools are the perfect temperature. Many of the guests gathered at the end of the day in the jacuzzi to share what we did that day. It was so nice. The front desk scheduled our flights on Maya air, transportation as well as excursions in advance. Everything was seemless.
We will be coming back."
