"The good:
- Excellent location to get to all major attractions walking or via tube. (tip - there is a bus that goes from outside the hotel to St. Pancras station. Easier that navigating multiple staircases on the tube with suitcases)
- Large rooms
- Two large lounges with workstations and lots of seating and one has a coffee/tea/latte machine
- A washer and dryer for guest use (one set and first come first serve but still handy)
- I had two maintenance requests which were addressed quickly
- Could cast from phone (Netflix) to TV
Areas for improvement:
- Furnishings and finishes are older and simple. If you are a 'Four Seasons' type, this isn't for you.
- Some may find the area too busy. There was a protest at Trafalgar Square during my stay which required some rerouting.
Overall I would stay again given the location and price.

"This is my go to hotel when staying in Manchester due to being central plus a very elegant hotel.
Rooms reflect the standard expected for a 4 star hotel but Junior suites plus are very good value and worth the additional cost.
Only gripe is that I ran out of phone in the bar lounge and needed to charge my phone due to messages from the USA but was told that I had to leave my phone behind reception...unattended as they could not supply a lead or a plug adaptor to charge as I enjoy my drink. I went to reception and was met with three guys who confirmed but no empathy when I stated that I could not leave my phone unattended. Thankfully a very attentive FOH team member called Katie who heard the situation and offered a phone adaptor and resolved the issue. Minor thing to read but important to me and quite annoying when a charger is way less than the drinks I put on a tab!
Katie is a great example of what real hospitality is about!"
