The pictures of the hotel you see on the web do not do it justice at all. The room was large and beautiful with tons of windows / glass doors opening out to your terrace where you could see the ocean and islands. The food was wonderful and the staff treated you like you were the only guests there and knew you by name. They went out of their way for us. I would love to go back someday. It was paradise.
Amazing resort in a beautifully stunning country. The staff was by far my favorite part about staying here. All were local Fijians and they were some of the nicest people my now fiance and I have met at a resort. They actually helped me plan popping the big question to my fiance :)
This resort is definitely off the beaten path. It is absolutely gorgeous! Everything was picturesque. From the white sand beaches to the perfectly clear blue water. Accessible only by boat, this Fiji oasis offers the ideal underwater long dreamed of, experience. Rainbow reef offers divers many dive spots and even snorkelers can enjoy the shallow, clear, colorful, soft coral reefs and fish. I normally don't post reviews but Matangi Island hit it out of the park! The staff took care of transfers from the airport (by car and boat) before we arrived. The staff were extremely kind, and welcomed us, and mase us feel like family. They learned each of our names (family of 5). We want to return someday. We love tge garden island resort and the people there.
