Mackenzie District Hotels

Robyn and Mike were the perfect hosts, and this property is lovely. The location was perfect for exploring the Mt. Cook area, and the hosts were spot on with dinner recommendations. As an added bonus, the view from the rooms is almost unreal!

A truly magical setting with service to match. We’ve stayed in many New Zealand hotels, and this was the first where the staff seemed truly focused on exceeding guests’ expectations. And boy, did they! We had room service dinner, and each—absolutely delicious—course was delivered exactly when we were ready for it, and at the perfect temperature. With no television, we had only conversation (mostly about the food!) and stars to keep us entertained, but seeing every constellation imaginable is an...

Freshly renovated with a kitchenette and washer/dryer. Very nice place to stay and relax while enjoying the mountians of the south island! Staff was also very friendly!

Great base to explore Aoraki Mt Cook, Mary, the owner was friendly and gave good information about the area: Twizel, Mt Cook, she has a good taste of decor. Spacious room, mini fridge, guest lounge, self service complimentary breakfast, wide open space (located on the airfield, but no noise at night). this lodge has great view of mountains. I loved everything. I would stay again if I come back to this area.

Nice

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The service and the lodging were excellent. The kitchen was very clean and had everything that could need. Thanks for a restful night.

Lovely home witg outstanding view of mountain range. Bed was very comfortable and kitchen well appointed with service ware and glassware. Easy directions to get in and out of house. Looks just like the pictures! Definitely recommend!!!

Awesome house

Parking was super easy and view was beautiful. Staff was very nice, hotel clean. It was quite pricy, but the rooms were very nice! Best pillows!!!

Very high quality property. It’s too beautiful to call it a Motel. It’s like a luxury mountain condo, fully furnished and equipped with all high-end products and fittings. The View out the window is fantastic. Jetted tub and Manuka honey spa products in the large bathroom were luxurious. Great kitchen with all you would need to cook a real meal and real living room space with comfortable leather sofa.

Loved the bathroom heated floor and sky window to watch the night sky. Beautiful location and easy to get to the downtown area with dining options and activities

Check in was smooth due to communication by the host prior to arrival since check in isn’t actually on site. It was a super smooth process, the location of the rooms are amazing, walkable to all the things. Was super convenient to watch sunrise / sunset & stargazing by the lake

Very spacious - two bedrooms, full kitchen, and living room. Comfortable beds, quiet, and clean. Lovely restaurant was a short walk away, but not much else to do in Fairlie.

They had a plunger coffee maker. I love that

The views were stunning. A bit of a headache that due to the weather, they were closing the gates at 6pm so we had to adjust travel plans to get there in time.

Great room. Quiet, clean and good value.

My first time staying at a Haka House hostel and I was blown away! They kindly let me check in early as my bed was ready and a towel was provided upon request. I stayed in an 8 bed female dorm but it felt more like a 4 bed because of the way the room was divided. The beds were very well thought out with little shelves, a reading light, outlets, and a privacy curtain. The lockers were huge. Bathrooms were clean and shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were provided which was a pleasant surprise. I...
