"Aircon vents rattling and loud. Showerhead also very loud with a squealing sound. On the other hand, the Bar and restaurant were amazing. Bed was comfy with good pillow options. 50/50 stay for me."

If you're planning a bit of sightseeing head to Newstead House— just one of the monuments in Newstead. Why not take a stroll along the riverfront and watch the sunset while you're here? It's also full of great shops and restaurants, so you can spend the afternoon having a wander.
It had at least ONE USB outlet plug. Plus having W/D; along with laundry soap available. Having a small cream container for coffee a plus. The gym has great workout equipment and clean! I liked being on the 6th floor with street view. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

The Holiday Inn Express (HIE) is fairly centrally located to the business district in Brisbane. It is within walking distance of most the downtown attractions, close to river access and the Central Train station. This place is a gem. The room was modern. Spacious and very clean. Check-in was very easy and fast. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We flew in from overseas and had to get Rapid Antigen Covid test kits but because we came in very late it would've been impossible to find a place to go buy these test kits late at night. Check in was easy, friendly staff, we were upgraded to a room on 20th floor, with the best view of the Brisbane River. Room was on a small size to unpack or move around, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good and tasty, coffee from the coffee machine was the best we ever had! Overall, we really enjoyed our 3 nights stay!
I had booked a hostel and could no longer take sharing a room. Hostel single rooms are the same as a nice room in a hotel. Hotel Diana was a breath of fresh air. Arrived around 10am, check-in was at 2pm. They accommodated me and I was in my room by 11am. Came with a bottle of wine (okay because it was free) for VIP members.
