"We were only planning to stay one night at Ava lodge before traveling to Tongariro. But due to cyclone Vaianu we called Ava lodge and Joe was able to extend our stay a couple extra nights. Ava lodge was very nice, modern, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Joe for helping us out 😀"
"Good spot by the waterfront of petone. Easy parking even for larger vehicles. Lots of dining and shops within walking distance. Room little tired but good place to stay "
"The host was welcoming and the unit was tidy. It was an older part of the complex but the room was suitable for an overnight stay. I have stayed here previously in the newer units which are nice. Unfortunately, the hot water did not work which was frustrating for showers in the morning. Hopefully that was fixed after our stay. "
"Great little cottage and great place. Very clean. It’s a campground, so you will need either to bring your own bedding or to reserve a self- contained unit. "
"The unit was exceptionally clean and the owner was very helpful. It was spacious and had everything we needed for a two night stay. Great parking. It also had an awesome shower."
"Had a small kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator with cookware and dishes. Room was very clean. Had a small balcony.
No restaurant on site but there are options nearby.
There is even a grocery store to buy water and stuff.
We get very safe.
They give access to a well equipped gym which was amazing.
The housekeepers gave us bandaid when my daughter got hurt.
I locked myself out by accident in night- the manager answered the ring and helped open my door within few minutes, even though...
"If this hotel was in the Wellington business district, a short twenty minute drive away, it would easily command double the price. Don’t be fooled by the surrounding area. Inside it’s spotless with generous sized rooms (and we booked the smallest), a huge bathroom, and little extras like a service towel for cleaning equipment. Staff are unfailingly helpful. Very quiet despite proximity to busy roads. Laundry room and elevator. "
"Be careful, you might pass this hotel when looking for it because of the busy traffic it but it's worth the extra care in finding it. The staff was helpful. The rooms were big. Nice bathroom and kitchen. I would stay here again if I came back to Wellington."
"Close to the railway line, so may be too noisy for some. 1 bdrm was spacious. Parking looks like it might be a problem but never was. Handy to train, bus, motorway and outlet shopping. Heating was good, shower was too. Very reasonably priced. I think we'll be back."
Lowest nightly price found within the past 24 hours based on a 1 night stay for 2 adults. Prices and availability subject to change. Additional terms may apply.
When the beach is calling your name, you might want to head down to Petone Foreshore, located 2 mi (3.2 km) from central Lower Hutt. Enjoy the sunset by the shore at Eastbourne Beach.
Petone Settlers Museum is just one of the attractions in Petone, Lower Hutt so you might want to stop by during your trip. If you want to experience more of the culture Lower Hutt has to offer, head to Petone Foreshore, Queensgate Shopping Centre, and Eastbourne Beach.
The BK motel in Petone was one of the best motels i have stayed in, the service was quick and effiecient the rooms were clean and of high stsndatds. I would reccomend this establishment to people who are wanting a private relaxing stay in Petone 5 Stars and more.
Ok location not far from Petone rail station which costs $5.50 peak and $4.50 off peak each way in to Wellington.
Two supermarkets just down Jackson Street easy walk, Countdown and Pak and Save.
Good room facilities including cooking facilities. Two TV's in one bedroom apartment.
Plenty of eateries close by.
Most of all.....It was CLEAN and spotless and a credit to their staff.
This motel was reasonably priced and close to local services (markets, restaurants, gas). It also has a complementary guest laundry room. The rooms were clean. A great fish market with a take-away service is a 1 minute walk. The staff were very helpful.
I stayed at this property for 9 days and it had everything one needs including a fridge, microwave, oven, sink and every kitchen gadget along with dishes, utensils, and pots and pans. My room was clean and well appointed. My room was essentially a studio apartment. The prices are very reasonable. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Green Gables will be my go to stay on my next trip to Lower Hutt, Wellington.
I was born and raised in Wellington but haven’t lived there in 22 years. I know the city well and perhaps I’m biased because I grew up a few blocks away. However, I cannot stress this enough, this hotel is in the best location. It is a true gem among chain-affiliated hotels with all the charm of an operating room.
The interiors are beautiful: industrial manor-loft vibes. High ceilings, antique furniture mixed with modern pieces, dark green tiled bathrooms, and an extremely comfortable...
We had a fantastic stay at this property. The room was clean and comfortable. Communication with the front desk was great, we received multiple emails prior to our arrival with check in, property, and parking information. The property is located just a short walk from Cuba St. so there were tons of shopping and dining options located within walking distance. One thing to note is that you do have to walk up a short flight of stairs to enter the property, which was a bit tricky with heavy luggage,...
Room was great with space and comfort. The trip from the car park to the room wasnt the easiest with three bags to take single handedly but it was managed. Room had great facilities including the washer dryer which was great. Kitchen and fridge was very useful and the bed was very comfortable.
This hotel was in a perfect spot for exploring Wellington on foot. Easy walk to the Te Papa museum, cable car and Parliament. Located on bustling Cuba Street, we had several great meals very close to the hotel. Room was spacious and had everything we needed. All in all, a great place to stay at a reasonable price.
Centrally located, clean and comfortable. The room is equipped with a mini kitchen and there is valet parking available for $45/night. Be aware that the snacks and drinks provided by the minibar are quite expensive ($5 for a bag of chips). There is a good steakhouse, Portlander, on the ground floor.
