We love the Sheraton! We stay there every year for our anniversary! Sheraton is walkable to Whalers Village and also has a couple of great dining options. The staff are very welcoming and the oceanfront deluxe room is to die for! Be back next year!
This was our first time in Maui and we loved the island and the hotel where we stayed (Aston Kaanapali Shores). The room was clean, the pools were warm, the ground were beautiful, the staff was polite and friendly (housekeeping ladies were very attentive and efficient), and the price we paid was quite reasonable. Maui Coast Hotel was an ideal base in Kihei! It was centrally located right across the street from Kamaole I Beach, and while I wouldn't necessarily recommend staying anywhere in Kihei without a car, there were definitely places to eat and hang in walkable distance in both directions, and the hotel also offered a complementary shuttle service within a 3-mile radius. For those with cars, the plentiful free parking was a nice contrast vs the predatory parking fees at the Wailea resorts.

Great family owned vacation cottage! Not walkable to restaurants but right across the street from a beautiful beach. They even provided beach chairs and an umbrella! Beautiful property grounds. Staff was beyond helpful and excellent! Couldn’t ask for a more hospitable and welcoming cottage for our trip. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay at the Historic Wailuku Inn. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and property was well maintained and quaint. Located centrally and stores and coffee shops were within a mile or two. A bit of traffic noise at night. Would have loved to have access to a bike.
Ali'i Kai is just a short walk to my favorite cafe on Maui: That's a Wrap...and then from there just a short walk to one of the most beautiful, walkable beaches in Kihei. I used to live in an Ali'i Kai condo, so this was like coming home. Incredible, all-around!
Unbelievable place to visit for your Honeymoon. The staff was amazing and made our honeymoon very special: amazing view, awesome pools, great food, and excellent amenities.

The best family rental ever. For the price compared to all the other resorts you get the most bang for your buck: location, FULL KITCHEN, laundry, guest services, beach access, shopping, and the most beautiful ocean with snorkeling magic galore. We saw sharks turtles and fish by Black Rock. It was amazing. Our daughter loved her first trip to Hawaii. We will definitely be back to west Maui and highly recommend the Whaler.
I absolutely loved the Whaler and highly recommend it! The room was much bigger than expected and clean for the price! For 1 bedroom they had 2 baths which was ideal! The staff was absolutely courteous, helpful and responded so quickly. Anything you asked for they had it! Such awesome customer service! The location was beautiful. Right off the ocean, next to Whalers Village. Grounds were kept impeccably clean with a beautiful Koi pond. I have never been so impressed with a hotel...
The setting here is wonderful. We could see and hear the waves whenever we were in our room. We had many meals on the balcony. But if you want a ocean view, make sure your building is one that has an ocean view. Ocean front rooms are more expensive, of course. If you don't care, the garden rooms have a very nice garden view as the gardens are nice too. Both the Gazebo restaurant and Imu BBQ were reasonable and delicious. Each evening other vacationers would gather on the bluff by the ocean...
