This place was beautiful and amazing. Wood floors, marble everywhere and a great swimming pool. I am so happy! The staff were friendly and warm. They seemed like family. The room was the perfect temperature, very comfortable and clean. There was an elevator. There were toys for our child. It was quiet and felt secluded. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We could not have asked for more. The photos and reviews do not do the hotel justice.
I highly recommend stopping here if you are on the Camino and want to stop in Caminha or Seixas. The private rooms are small but very nice. I had a view of the beautiful cathedral in town right outside my window. There is a beautiful view of the Minho River from the deck outside. The shared bathroom is very clean and the shared common room was large (as well as the kitchen). Patricia who runs it is also very kind and helpful. Definitely a 5 star stay!

Our two-night stay at Paço de Calheiros was absolutely wonderful. We were met in the courtyard by Francisco, the Count Calheiros. He showed us to our room while giving us a quick rundown of the property and invited us to refreshments on the patio before dinner. He joined us and four other guests at dinner during which he provided an interesting history of the century’s old estate/vineyard and the Calheiros family. After dinner the Count gave us a tour of the castle.
