Love this hotel, however maintenance is poor, tiles loose in shower, white towels around pool old and frayed, courtyard pads, dirty, and worn. The mattress hard as a rock. Still the room layout and size is great and overall the hotel is nice.

Beautiful property and nice villa. Prior Kirkland ownership reviews raved about the place, breakfast and the service and comparatively it seems less than before. Found the staff very friendly and helpful, some fixes needed in the units, sinks not draining, tv not working well, furnishings, while lovely could use a refresh.

This place is absolutely awesome overall, it isn't cheap but the size of the villas along with the fact some come with private patios and hottubs or outdoor bathrtubs makes it overall worth it. Now for the negatives, for a property as pricey as this one there were a lot of little things you'd think would be taken care of, there was some water damage to the trim on either side of the shower that was kinda unsightly, the hot water didn't work at all on one of the lav faucets, the sprayer for the kitchen sink didn't work at all and was unusable, some of the tableware was dirty still and the kitchen table was still sticky and looked like it hadn't been wiped down. Would I stay here again absolutely in a heartbeat..if they fixed some of these other issues it would be 5 stars no doubt.

This was our second stay, be we will not stay here again. The hotel is nice and the pool and restaurant service is very good, but our experience was ruined by a rude and not transparent front desk. We booked through Hotels.com and La Serena was vocally unhappy about it. They would be an obscure boutique without 3rd Party exposure. Upon departure, the clerks refused to provide a complete receipt of charges and told me to ask Hotels.com for a complete billing! Hotels.com didn't charge us anything . Even after repeated calls by me and Hotels.com, La Serena still has not refunded the difference between the quoted and actual charges. Beware!

My wife and I came to this property to have a relaxing vacation. We really liked how private it was. I know that some villas are more private than others. We opted To get an upgraded room. We felt very comfortand enjoyed our stay. The property and stuff was very nice everything was very clean. Complimentary breakfast was very good and we enjoyed the restaurant at the pool.. The location was amazing, you couldn't ask for a better location 2 things that I didn't Like was we got our room pretty late. Which I believe we could have got it earlier. Because they had finished cleaning it sooner. And forgot to Call us which is not really the reason that I didn't like. But I didn't like that. They rushed us out at 11 The next day. We would have enjoyed a late checkout. Which every hotel offers an extra hour to complimentary and would have spent more money at the pool. The other thing I didn't like was when they bring you your breakfast in the morning that they just walk in to The villa. My wife was in the shower and I was getting dressed in the living room area. I would have expected the food to be left at the door or for someone to knock. But definitely overall a beautiful stay. And we would definitely come back again.

Check in was flawless. the property is older so not brand new but adds to the charm. Very clean, private, close to pool and restaurant/bar. Walking distance from Palm Canyon/Downtown old town PS.
