My group of 6 booked the family suite for our weekend stay. Unknown to us before we arrived, SCE turns off the power in Kernville due to high winds...completely understandable. When we arrived on Friday evening, the hotel generator was running and we had power, but not everyone did. SCE later restored power around 8 pm. The following day, we arrived back at the hotel at 5 pm with no power & the generator was not being utilized. No one was in the office; they did not answer the cell phone number on the window, but did finally answer a text regarding the generator. When asking when the generator would be turned on, the only response was "between 8 - 10." We were left for 5 hours without power, a candle, a lantern, etc. SCE turned the power on at 9:30 pm. We spent 3 hours in the dark! Why was the generator not used this night?! Why were we not told ahead of time about the electricity situation?! In addition, for a party of 6, we were provided 4 bath towels/3 wash clothes/2 slivers of soap/no Kleenex, or extra toilet paper. There were no paper towels, kitchen towels, or extra trash bags in the kitchen. We had one frying pan, 3 cooking utensils, & no coffee. Moreover, we received no service to make our beds, change out towels, or empty our trash. When checking in, I had to call a cell phone for someone to come to the front desk, my ID was never asked for, and no one was available at checkout. Kern Lodge does not care about their patrons and is unprofessional!!
