Good view over of the ocean and good location to restaurants! We had a spacious suite and our communication with the management/owner was outstanding! Owner, Lila, borrowed us hiking poles, bear spray, suggested hikes, restaurants for all meals and steered us in so many fun local ways! We would stay at the Pioneer Inn again!

It’s a convenient way to visit Homer. Despite a little lack of space in the room there’s really everything you can be in need of. Even very detailed and updated information about Homer, activities and weather is provided. Position is good provided you have your own vehicle.

Great place!

The Pioneer Inn was a perfect place to rest my family’s heads for the evening after a great couple of days in Homer. There were three beds, a kitchen, and a little tv sitting area. The view from the second floor room was amazing.

The room was very small and uncomfortable. Noise level was too high. You can hear it everytime someone turns on the water or walking around. Lila was kind enough to offer us the refund for the days we didn't stay.

Five stars are not enough

This was a true hidden gem. I've been on the road traveling for close to four months, and this is hands-down my favorite landing spot. It is family-owned, and Lila goes above and beyond to accommodate and make a person feel welcome. A more genuine and upbeat person you will not likely meet. The rooms have a multitude of little touches that make it more like "home" than just another hotel -- from the soft, quality toilet paper (!) to the plush bath towels, the container of coffee and blackout curtains, the cleanliness, and I will mention once again, how NICE and helpful the owner is! Also, the location is perfect, and quiet. Best of all, the owners keep the rates reasonable when they could easily rate-gouge, given how nice this Inn is.

Pros: The room was super clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was hot with lots of pressure. There were eating places within walking distance. Internet service was good. Cons: Could hear people walking outside and upstairs which was very loud and annoying. The room had a king bed but was otherwise fairly small. The owner did give us a $30 refund and offered to move us to a bigger room.
