This lovely secluded rain forest cabin is wonderfully private, very close to the park, and the owners are extremely responsive (by text). They provide coffee and bottled water (although the filtered rain water is fine too). Note that it’s a pretty big place so takes a bit to warm up on cold wet days, but worth it!

This place was our stopover after a full day and evening at the park. It was about 10 minutes away from inside the park. House was cozy, heated pads on the bed were a nice touch after the cold fog all day. I especially loved the welcome cat on the property and the black chicken who perched on our railing to sleep for the night. All the animals were friendly which is a testiment to their loving environment.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Volcano Ranch. It is super convenient to Volano Park, but also a gem unto itself. The animals are delightful and our room overlooking the pond was super warm and cozy on a cool, rainy day. Every detail has been considered to make your stay here as comfortable as possible. Would definitely stay again should we ever be in the area!

The accommodations were terrific, a great value in superb location for visiting Volcanoes National Park and Hilo area. Spacious, comfortable beds. Host was very accommodating by offering to deliver to-go breakfasts as we had an early morning flight. I recommend the Lanikai Brewing Co for dinner if you stay here- the best food we ate in Hawaii for adults and kids- also great beer and excellent cocktail lists with low-key come as you are feel (i.e. sweatpants).

My 7 and 8 year old kids loved this place so much. They named all of the animals and got to run around and have a blast playing with them. Theresa is an amazing host at an incredible property. It was great to interact with the animals. She helped us understand how to see the volcano eruption and even went out of her way to wake up other guests to be sure they didn't miss it. She has thought of everything including "junk" towels to clean up shoes after hiking. The breakfasts were delicious, and the papaya boats were excellent. Great place to stay. It was fun to see the animals on the property. The breakfast was delicious and had several options. We stayed in the cabin and it was very well equipped, even had a great toilet and shower. The cabin itselt was complete with a comfortable bed and warm covers and a large quantity of flashlights. During cloud-free nights, the sky is illuminated with stars.

If only we could have stayed longer! We had booking the glamping unit, but because of water issues Theresa switched us to the Bungalow, which was so cosy. She agreed alternative breakfast arrangements as we had to leave early on checkout. We only had time to meet the chickens and ducks at the doorstep, but we saw the donkey and goats sheltering from the rain! I would definitely recommend staying here if you're making a trip to Volcano NP.

We had such a wonderful stay in the Lehua Retreat cabin. Accommodations were beyond our expectations and feeding and interacting with the animals was such a special treat for the kids. The property is beautiful and peaceful and just what we needed. Theresa went above and beyond to provide a pack and play for my 1 year old, and even cut up our breakfast fruit extra small for the little ones. Breakfast was hot and delicious and such a treat for us as our first stay at a B&B. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes the farm/ranch vibes, and great for families with small kids too. Convenient location only 10 minutes from Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park.
