The property is beyond tired, I'd guess it is primarily used for social housing. Did not feel safe for 2 female travelers. We considered going to the warehouse to purchase new bedding. In the end we stayed with other friends. The man that checked us in was polite. Would not recommend under any circumstance.

I appreciate that there are old photos in the advertisement for the motel and that it is in need of tlc. I found the owners to be friendly and helpful. IReception is clean and tidy, my unit with a little more cleaning would be great the bed was comfortable and apart from the noise of the traffic my stay was okay but it was ruined by a rowdy, rude male next door to ruin it.

The unit we had was in a very bad, unkempt condition as was the grounds. I doubt if I would bother book there again. The staff I dealt with were friendly tho so that is a plus. Hope they can do better. It's a tough old world out there

It was damp, slugs on the floors and condensation max! It was dripping onto the floor during the night. The toilet had issues in the middle of the night we couldn’t fix so was awake from the noise from 3am onwards. Very sad but the staff were friendly.

The worst property I have stayed in 40 years of travel. Room not serviced, no smoke alarms. Holes in multiple walls covered in tape and painted over. Hot water flow next to useless. The whole room had been painted with little regard for masking over light switches, taps, benches. No breakfast offered and general amenity was from the 50’s without updating. Reception was abrupt. Avoid at all costs. I moved to another property during the paid-for period

The staff at this motel were lovely and very helpful but after staying in Studio units all over the country, we found everything rather dismal, especially for the price. The carpet, bed coverings, cushions and toilet seat were all stained and although it might have only been stains it didn't fill us with confidence. The windows were dirty, curtains mismatched, carpet looked like it may have been puked on at some stage so bare feet were not an option. The only electricals were a kettle, tv and a heater, tea and coffee not replenished on second day, two little bars of soap. In contrast we stopped for the night on Taupos waterfront for $15 per night extra, spotlessly clean, hair drier, handwash, bodywash and shampoo, towel heater in the lovely bathroom, the kettle, a toaster, microwave, 2 element cooktop, crisp white sheets, fluffy white towels and face cloths, heatpump, TV, phone......it was like a palace!

The room was nothing like the photos, there were large stains on the floor. It wasn’t the cleanest. On the photos the carpet was newer and there was an aircon on the wall which seems to have been placed there for the photos. No smoke alarm and the tv had no channels.

Although clean, the motel was basic and dated with walls that could do with a coat of paint and repairs which had been done were obvious by the different shades of paint. The exterior area was weed ridden and overgrown and the driveway and paths holed. Very noisey with the trucks driving past in close proximity. The one staff member was pleasant although we had to ring him to get attention.Would not recommend nor use again.

Pretty basic, free toiletries were just 2 small soap bars only, the 2 towels for showers were the size of larger teatowels, walls had holes covered with tape and painted over and the free wifi kept disconnecting to the extent l had to hotspot from my phone so l could watch programs from my laptop.
