Historical B&B in a beautiful location on the Mohawk River, we had a great stay here. The place is filled with awesome antiques acquired by proprietors John and Pam over 30 years. The inn dates back to the 1800's and four U.S. Presidents have stayed here. Located 22 minutes from Saratoga Racetrack and 45 minutes from Lake George, we loved being able to explore the area and return to this quiet inn. Breakfast was delicious and John & Pam were gracious hosts who provided great tips for exploring the area. Loved our stay and can't wait to return !

We came to Saratoga for an overnight stay to attend a concert at SPAC. We were welcomed by John as soon as we arrived. He gave us a tour of the downstairs as well as a brief history of the B&B. The grounds are beautiful right on the river and a quick 20 minute drive to Saratoga. They served a beautiful made to order breakfast before we checked out the following day. Would recommend!

This fine house is a livable museum. The owners are personable and helpful to guests. This property was a lucky find for us!

In a tourist region where even two-star inns were ridiculously overpriced, we found a rare gem. Our host welcomed us at dusk into this magnificent ancestral home. And time stood still to the sound of that intriguing player piano in the museum-like living room. Everything was perfect, from arrival to the room to the exquisite breakfast. We remember thinking that no other place in the region could have offered us such a warm and welcoming experience. Many thanks to our hosts. Claudia & Marc-André

Arrived to the property at night and was too scared to enter. Decided to spend the night else where. Owner refused to refund my money.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and historic house. It is located in an extremely quiet area and within comfortable distance from Albany, Saratoga and Lake George. The interior of the house is very tastefully decorated and furnished with antiques throughout. Our stay at the Oakcliff Bed and Breakfast was like stepping back in time, while still keeping all the modern comforts. John and Pam are excellent hosts. They made us feel very welcome. Also, the views of the Mohawk River from behind the house are spectacular.

Pleasant Stay

My wife and I went to the Tug Boat Rally in Waterford. We took a chance at a bed and breakfast and pick Oakcliff. Great experience! House is a restored from the 1800's. Lots of history. John and Pam are great hosts, will give you a tour of their home and cook you a made to order breakfast. I will stay here again when I come up next year for the Rally.

Totally Fabulous

This is a gorgeous historic home with a beautiful view of the Mohawk River. The host has been working on the home for 30 years, and he is a perfectionist. Every piece of furniture is an antique. (Not a place to take small children.) Breakfast was delicious, with great coffee. Not your typical B&B!

John and Jan are awesome hosts. I felt welcomed and cared for. John maintains an impressive collection of unique pieces of art and furniture. He also makes a delicious and generously-portioned morning meal. The coffee is, sincerely, the best coffee I’ve ever had (and I’m an old woman with a coffee obsession!) I recommend having a cup on the verandah overlooking Lake Mohawk. //swoon//

It was a wonderful place - very calm and relaxing. John and Pam are excellent hosts catering to our every need - including making us a dinner reservation on the first night.

8/10 Very good

John is very nice and wants to be sure your stay a good one. The home is beautiful and immaculate. I felt like I was staying in a museum as all the furniture and fixtures are period pieces. The breakfast was made to order and several options were given, served on china. We stayed in the first floor bedroom. The sheets were super soft. The bathroom was marble and towels were very soft too. The only thing not perfect was the bedroom, though very lovely is quite small with very little room for luggage.

6/10 Good

ok...

The proprietor was very kind and accommodating, and quite proud of the restoration he had done at the historic Inn - but he was very uptight about not touching the antiques, not putting glasses down with out coasters, not putting bags on furniture, etc. It was a little uncomfortable to get comfortable!

The house is amazing and the view of the Mohawk River is spectacular. I'm very fond of older homes and was also glad there was NO TV in the room---that would have spoiled the ambiance. Our host John was extremely accommodating and served a wonderful breakfast ;-)
