Except for 2 cleaners, did not see any staff during my 4 night stay. Text received to explain how to get into the room - via code entered on keypad. The motel was still on the reduced Summer schedule of offerings; and during a time of serious flooding in the district making travel to the town very problematic.

Reception is advertised as available until 9.00pm. But the single untrained staff member departed at 6.00pm every day. I had arranged (when booking), a month prior, to be collected from the train station. But on arrival I was told by phone that that would not happen and so I had to pay $17 for a cab. I went to reception to enquire about something. It was unattended at about 5.30pm. I waited around, only to find that lone staff member arriving from the train in the bus with several customers. I questioned why I had to pay a taxi when she was providing a bus for other clients. She apologized and explained that she had only just been told of this requirement (in the intervening 15 minutes between my arrival and the newcomers!!!). She was attempting to be polite and helpful at all times, but had not been fully trained, nor was she supervised properly, or given access to an adviser. Additionally, every day we stayed there (4 days), I received a txt on my phone advising of a new room entry numeric code. BUT the first code provided on day one continued to function, while the new ones did not. I reported this problem to the poor lone staff member but she was unable to fix it it or explain it. I have a great deal of sympathy for this poor single staff member, BUT no sympathy for her (apparently unavailable) owner/manager. It was pathetic and I will NEVER stay there again!!!
