Great location but disappointing stay overall

The location was excellent, and the breakfast was good enough. However, there was a strong odor coming from the bathroom, and despite raising the issue, nothing was done to resolve it. Unfortunately, this significantly impacted the experience for me and my family.

Nice hotel. Unfortunately, an unknown when I booked the room, the hotel is renovating and there is construction going on around the hotel. Several things were not open like the restaurant and gym. A bit noisy. Inconvenient to meet Ubers and taxi due to road work. But overall a nice stay.

Far from the Marriott standard

Far from the Marriott standard. The hotel is very outdated, the hallways and staircases were not clean. The scramble for a table and food in the morning due to lack of tables and layout of the food was nothing short of uncivilised. The only real upside of this hotel is the staff who were all very friendly and helpful.

The Hotel is under going refurbishments until June.This meant the reception,bar/lounge,breakfast areas were all unavailable. This was not communicated at the time of our booking and I would not have booked if I knew this. THe hotel did offer a garb and go breakfast which meant guests had to bring to their rooms to eat. This meant lots of people balancing trays in the lift.THe room where the breakfast was being served was small and when it was busy it was hard to move in their. It would have been better if the hotel offered cheaper rates and no breakfast.As it was we were paying €670 euro for two nights in a family room.

Unfortunately we didn’t have a great stay. The advertised “bar” was essentially a fridge. The room was very warm with no window or air conditioning which made it very difficult to sleep. The TV signal made the tv useless. The room was very clean and the staff where helpful.

The hotel was great in terms of the amenities, location and overall cleanliness etc. The issue was with the room we were given - it was an accessible room so the bathroom was designed differently and didn't have a separate showering area, which meant the entire loo got wet anytime the shower was used. We tried speaking to the staff to find an alternate room but seemed like they were booked out. It was unfortunate that this info wasn't mentioned at the time of booking so we could have chosen better

Terrible service. I reported 2 problems in my room and when i left 10 days later they were not fixed. Early wake up call came 30 minutes late causing a big rush to get my flight. Nice new mattress was not accompanied with sheets that actually fitted.

Everything about this hotel was fine except the temperature of the room which remained 78F or higher no matter what we did. There is no air conditioning which is understandable for Edinburgh but there is also no air flow (window opens only a crack) and no way to cool the rooms down. Apparently there was a “heat wave” (temps in the low 70s during the day) up until the day we arrived. For the three days we were there the outside temp was 40s at night and about 60 during the day, nonetheless with three fans provided by the hotel and leaving lights off, the room hovered around 80, and the hallways were worse. The staff did their best but told us the building was built to retain heat because “Edinburgh is usually cold.” I heard another guest tell the front desk as he was checking out that he had been so hot the night before that he thought he had a fever. This is an infrastructure problem but it made our stay unpleasant, and we won’t be back.
