We enjoyed a two night stay in a premium lodge room. Comfy beds and great big tubs. A maintenance issue required us to move rooms on the second night but the staff made it easy by moving our luggage and it was just as nice of a room. Lovely on site hiking trails and close to Ano Nuevo State Park for seal viewing. Good restaurant on the grounds too.

We stayed in a glamping tent for 2 nights. Very cozy. Ate at Cascades for dinner and breakfast the next morning. Both very good. Nice bathroom facilities with saunas and a fireplace. General Store has an amazing array of goods. Have already told several friends to check it out or go with us next time for lodge, glamping or camping. Enjoyed visiting Pescadero nearby and made many stops along the coastline.

we stayed in a glamping tent. It was nice. I do wish I had a fire pit for evening camp fire. :-(

Beautiful property. Hotel staff are nice but not always helpful. Casacde restaurant needs a lot of work on food quality.

Wow! What is there not to like about this beautiful place! It’s close to the ocean, breezy, cool at night, it also has a couple of trails. I was surprised how quiet and respectful other campers were especially at night time. I didn’t have any problems getting a good nights sleep for that reason. I highly recommend this beautiful place. You won’t regret it.

This is the second year we've chosen Costanoa's Cascade Restaurant for their delicious Thanksgiving dinner. This year we decided to stay for two nights in the Lodge, which was very cozy and relaxing. We took advantage of their communal hot tub both nights, both nights alone, which was great. (Thanksgiving night there we no lights and we couldn't find a switch. The attendant at the front desk seemed uninterested in helping, so we ended up groping our way to the tub with our cell phone lights and using it anyway in the dark.) Duarte's Tavern in Pescadero also serves good food, and we enjoyed Año Nuevo Park in Pescadero. We'll do this again next year! (

Not worth it

The spa/massages no longer exist, the hot tub is gone (with “no timeline to return” - their words), the Pine Tent Lodge/Restaurant thing is no longer actually a restaurant with food, instead they have a food truck that ran out of most items, the garden no longer exists, the charcoal grills were “in the process of being replaced” during Memorial Day weekend, the water coming out of our cabin faucet was brown, the food from the lodge was mediocre at best, the hiking trail is full of poison oak, getting to the beach on foot is at least a 20 min hike that requires crossing the highway and trudging through sand dunes, and they were charging $12 for each small bundle of wood for fires. Deceptive advertising and not worth the price, go elsewhere.

I loved staying at Costanoa - I stayed in one of the glamping tents and it was just what I wanted. The heated blanket helped keep me toasty warm during the chilly night. The bath house was clean and had a sauna and fireplace for use. The restaurant dining was fantastic: food, service, & drinks were all wonderful. I hiked up to and around the shoreline, which was gorgeous. 10/10 would stay again!

Great little spot - great location!

I was staying here overnight prior to watching the elephant seals at Ano Nuevo State Park about 10 minutes away. The check in process was easy, plenty of parking. I had more of a hotel type room rather than the cabins or tents. The room was spacious, with a coffee maker and a fridge. There was a gas fireplace on the wall which was so nice and relaxing to have on since it was a cold stormy night. There is a cute restaurant and a general store than sold anything you may have forgotten. I was really impressed and would stay here again. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful.

We stayed in a tent bungalow as the weather was getting colder. I wouldn’t recommend the tent bungalow between November 1 to April 1 unless you enjoy the cold. The only heat available is an electric blanket, which works well, but you don’t have the option to really “hang out” in your room if staying in a tent bungalow in fall or winter months. Overall, this is a beautiful location and an average value for staying by the ocean.

Coastal location is beautiful. Incredible trails from the grounds to the beach. Delicious restaurant in site. Immaculate gardens and comfortable rooms. Though I booked a room in the lodge the glamping is the finest that I have seen. I will definitely come back.

Nice clean and quiet. Food was good. Staff is great. We booked a cabin on Expedia and were told at check in that the showers are shared. No where on Expedia did it mention that. They moved us to a lodge room for no extra charge. Room was nice however I would have just stayed at a hotel if I wanted to stay at a hotel. We booked there to stay at a cabin. I would have taken some “walk to shower” footwear if I knew that was the case. Overall I rate it 3.8/5

I paid in the app and got charged again at check in. They are having a hard time transitioning to a new system, and check in took a long time and will take even longer to straighten out payment. They were nice, the grounds are beautiful- similar issues in the restaurant-they seemed overwhelmed while the restaurant was less than half full. But, ingredients were fresh.

Not so relaxing

I was planning a nice weekend away for some R and R and booked the lodge as a splurge. Don’t go on a weekend if you want any R and R. The location is great - my room was on the bottom floor behind the check out counter and very noisy. They started vacuuming outside my room around 8 pm and again around 6 am. I could hear all Doors slamming and coming and going. Was really disappointed with the lodge experience. I’d say get a flanking tent or camp for a fun friends getaway or family trip but if you want peace and quiet- this was Not it.

Cascade restaurant was very understaffed, resulting in slow service. Food was excellent.

This is a fun place to have a group gathering. There is a restaurant, a gift shop, gift shop also has a manes for things for me have forgotten. If you drive an electric car, there’s no charge to park otherwise it’s $10 a night.you can bring a dog although the fee is rather high. It seems most of the accommodations are in tent cabins. They have plastic tarps covering them. The bathroom facilities are located outside so it’s a bit of an adventure if you have to use them in the middle of the night. You can bring a dog although the fee is rather high. It seems most of the accommodations are in tent cabins. They have plastic tarps covering them. The bathroom facilities are located outside so it’s a bit of a adventure if you have to use them in the middle of the night. Make sure you bring a headlamp. It’s nice that the restroom facilities and showers also have a fireplace outside where you can sit. You can have a staff member come and build you a fire or you can do it yourself. My favorite part was that they had a dry sauna there also. I went out a half hour early and turned it on to warm it up. In your cabin, you have robes and a basket with your towels in it so you can go to a sauna, brush your teeth etc shower - there is a wall mounted hairdryer too. It is a unisex sauna so it’s up to you what you want to wear in there. I think most people wear a bathing suit or towel or robe. There’s wooden cabins, RV camping sites & a lodge w en-suite bathrooms - I will do next time.

Family place - lots of kids

This could be a great place for a family looking for a camping experience with the kids. It wasn't so handy for a place to say as a solo traveler on a longer road trip. It was very noisy and was a cold night. My tent had windows that would not close tight, and there is no heat - it got pretty cold. The bed was hard, and needed a heavier of more blankets. Also, while the sites are well spaced - it was very noisy, even past the 10:00 quiet hours. Lots of Kids having fun and screaming. I booked on a third party booking site, and missed the details of the lack of amenities.
