Overall very good stay. Great place if you want to be near Perugia but not in it and, more so, at an absolutely beautiful property. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Our room was definitely small but we got stuck with a smaller corner (Lecci room) likely because we didn’t direct book with them and other than being very tight, the room didn’t have its own router for some reason so internet was an issue but staff addressed best they could. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast not great and loud annoying American tour group didn’t help (says this American). Again, would stay if want amazing and unique property close to Perugia and main towns in Umbria.

I can’t praise this hotel enough. This is the best hotel we have stayed at and we have been holidaying in Italy for 30 years. Definitely somewhere I would recommend and would plan to come back to. It only has 18 rooms so is never busy. There are beautiful outdoor seating areas with shade and bar service. Just wonderful.

Amazing place, friendly people that work there, excellent restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was really great too. Castle that was built in 1120. Sweeping views of Perugia and the countryside. I can't say enough about this castle. The pasta dish I had was probably the best I had on my entire trip and that included 5 days in Roma.

Beautiful historic castle!

We loved the idea of staying in a castle and it did not disappoint! The castle was beautiful and the grounds well kept. We were also fortunate ebough to run into one of the staff, Alan, who was able to tell us the history of the castle and area. Super interesting! We also dined at the property and the food was delicious.

This was our second stay at Castello di Monterone. It really is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The property and grounds are absolutely stunning! It is so peaceful and relaxing. All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel is also wonderful. The location is great for exploring the towns and sights of Perugia! We will DEFINITELY be returning!

The people were excellent. The atmosphere superb! The location wonderful. Only the restaurant area was so blab, needs major decorating. Art looks like a 6 yr old No colors match, very uncomfortable chairs. Very stark and boring room. Orherwise a wonderful stay at a beautiful castle
