8/10 Very good

First impressions of hotel as you drive up the drive are very good. Ample parking available. Welcome at reception was friendly and were shown room. Room was satisfactory but decor was a bit dated with adequate key lock. Beds were a little bit rocky and soft but still slept well. Breakfast was of a good size however was fried not grilled, the sausages were cheap quality and no choice of egg type.

Stay was ok

Stay was fine, basic room and we couldn’t get anything to eat or drink at the hotel so had to drive out

Pleasant stay, room was spacious and comfortable, windows didnt open which as well as making the room stuffy seems unsafe in the event of fire. Quiet, lovely surroundings.

Awful breakfast but room okay

Room was ok, reception staff were friendly and showed us to our room. Breakfast was awful took an hour and a half to be given a menu and then had to remind the guy to take our order and everyone around us said the food was awful and we are wasting our time so we went elsewhere

Little out of the way and didn't have a hotel feel

Hotel was shortstaffed but they tried to assist us where possible. Was sure that I had booked to include breakfast but the remote support said that I hadn't - assistant manager sorted that out in the morning. Decor was old but the room turned out to be comfortable.

Not in Mold as website suggests in search!

The hotel did the job, but two issues, the first major one is the location does not correlate with the map on the Hotels.com site, which indicates it is in Mold town centre. So when leaving Mold after visiting, I was surprised to see a 15min journey, meaning I was 30mins from the location I was visiting on Saturday. Secondly, small shower gel and shampoos still provided, not eco friendly.

Very cheap. Nice room with a bath and shower. Slept well. Just out of the way requiring expensive taxis to get there and back.

Give it a miss!

The worst hotel stay I’ve had in years, from the initial booking I got conflicting info from staff about a late check in due to being at a wedding, then I had to request the key safe code for my room and wait around for it late at night as it was never sent. The bed was not at all comfortable! The curtains were not blackout so was woken VERY early by the sun, the bathroom didn’t have an extractor fan so the mirrored walls quickly steamed up and the condensation never disappeared so you couldn’t use them to get ready without getting a towel soaked wiping them down. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired, dead insects and stained carpets. The walls were also paper thin. The breakfast was pretty sub standard, bacon and sausage barely cooked. I wouldn’t ever stay here again!

8/10 Very good

We had a comfortable night stay. We were aware there were no food or drink facilities on site. Tea and coffee in the room was appreciated. Very clean and enough room for 3 of us for one nights stay.

wont stay again

Reception staff seemed glued to their seat giving us the key which was simply placed on the desk. We asked if breakfast was available she simply said NO and carried on doing whatever. Bathroom in room was too cramped.

When we pulled up to the hotel, our intial thought was that it was closed, there is temporary fencing all round the property after going into reception I asked about breakfast and a bar, neither where available, there is nothing within walking distance either on the plus side room was clean and fairly comfortable.

There’s on going major renovation work and the whole place is essentially a building site. There is minimal staff who appear to be untrained and out their depth though generally polite. To be honest I am not sure if the hotel is safe or legally operating.

Disappointing visit

The main problem was the poor choice and quality of the breakfast. On the first morning, the alternative breakfast was missing the advertised yoghurts and pastries. There were no mushrooms or tomatoes with the cooked breakfast, although these items were supposedly included. There was no choice of bread, most of the tables were half set and the general quality of the food was poor. On the second morning, there were no tomatoes or mushrooms but this time, no eggs either. This left no choice of cooked breakfast at all. Generally the hotel seemed tired and run down. The chef worked hard and tried his best but nothing he did could make up for the general delapidation.

The big negatives first. I booked a classic room, paid extra for it. Arrived at the hotel and was taken to.... A normal room. The receptionist didn't bother to tell us we'd been downgraded, and when the difference in price was mentioned....this was completely ignored. She tried fobbing us off saying it's the same kind of room, despite making one as a classic room with 4 poster and the other as a standard king size room. Id paid for the 4 poster classic room not a normal one. It turns out that no one had cleaned the classic room. Had dirty bedding and towels etc. So had a downgrade and they chose to ignore the extra money I'd paid. Bit fraudulent really. The room we ended up with was ok, if I'd booked that room then I would have been pleased with it. Location is beautiful, breakfast was lovely. But the rip off and fob off will be the main memory.

Parking area good, though poorly lit. Room good but curtains were see through and didnt prevent any early morning light. Problem with wifi, staff did all they could, and was very helpful. Big problem with directions. Google maps took me to Hero's Place and a cul-de-sac that was difficult to turn around.

A terrible experience!

A truly terrible hotel experience! Issues/problems in no particular order; 1) The wall of room 105 to the one next door must be paper thin! I could hear the person in the next door room snoring loudly and constantly, apart from when they were coughing or using the bathroom. I could also hear everything from their bathroom as well! By 1.45 am I had not slept and decided to leave. Therefore I had a 2 hour drive home in the dark when I was extremely tired! 2) The room is shabby, with scuffed paintwork and tiles 3) The carpet has several unsightly stains 4) cobwebs, including on the outside of the window, which could easily be wiped away! 5) A shabby, uncomfortable, tatty bed and mattress (although the daddy long legs seemed to like it!) 6) A shower head which is very high up for a shorter person and cannot be lowered 7) Security - the staff explained about the door being locked at 9pm on Sundays and showed me how to do the entry code (they were very helpful, friendly and patient) However, when I returned at 10pm the door was unlocked. When I left at 2pm the door was still unlocked - not really very secure!!! 8) I could also hear a TV (from downstairs?) and heavy footsteps of people running around
