I booked a weekend stay at this hotel for my trip to Summercon. I made the fateful decision to put in my trial contacts (that I never wear) and get a new set of coffin nails in the hopes that with all my other outfit choices, Skeet Ulrich would take one look at me and ask me to be his bride. Instead of that pipe dream happening, I couldn't get one of my contacts out for the entire weekend! I had already gotten stuck in traffic on the way up and missed one of my photo ops. I didn't want to miss my next one, but I was trying to juggle a visit to the local urgent care and check out. There was no way, even with late check out that I could make it work. I called up the hotel from my car and Kristin answered. I explained that my bags were mostly packed, but I was across town. She got me checked out and packed up my belongings herself and kept them safe in the office for me so that I wouldn't miss anything. Before any of that went down, every person I spoke to at the hotel was so friendly, helpful, and sweet. Thank you Kristin, Carlie, and Desiree!
The room was comfortable and clean. It had all I needed. There's a Starbucks and a 7-11 in the same parking lot (though the prices were slightly cheaper at the shell across the street). I didn't get the chance to try either. The area is safe. I wish it were a little closer to the fairgrounds, but it's doable. Wish the pool had not been closed for maintenance. But seriously, the staff was so nice, even though they were slammed.
