Our stay at Athens gate hotel was so good. Within easy walking distance to all the sites especially as first time visitors to Athens. Staff were excellent throughout the hotel. The rooftop bar and restaurant were highlights to be able to see the Parthenon and to start your day. Foyer was so good to relax in. You need to be prepared for busy times with the lift and be patient. The only downside for us was the PowerPoint on the floor which was very awkward for boiling a kettle.

We were surprised to get a view of the Parthenon from our room. I don’t think we had asked for room with a view, but we sure got one and were so excited! Because of our points with hotels.com we got a free bottle of wine too. The entrance to the Parthenon is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The Plaka neighborhood is wonderful filled with shops and restaurants. A perfect location in Athens.
