A lovely hotel in an ideal location for exploring York. The historic building is beautiful and full of character, with charmingly wonky floors and an old-fashioned English atmosphere. The room was small, but had everything I needed and was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent, with a good buffet selection as well as hot dishes made to order, which I particularly appreciated. I also liked the hotel's thoughtful approach to reducing waste with towels and housekeeping. I would definitely recommend Middletons and would happily stay here again on a future visit to York.

Wonderful sized large room. Very comfortable large bed. Loved the solid wood wardrobes. The bathroom was large bath and shower. Hand cream and body wash device ne smell. The staff were so welcoming, helpful and extremely efficient. Breakfast was excellent quality and range of choices. Would definitely choose this hotel again. So handy to walk to the centre and the races. Car free for the weekend loved it.
