There are a lot of stairs at this hotel, once on the correct floor there were more stairs to the room - very awkward for disability or pushchairs. Rooms are very squashed with basic amenities, bathroom was good although the door really made a noise when closed. The room smelt as though someone had been smoking in there. The public areas, restaurant, bar and reception were nice, clean, and well maintained. Staff were friendly, very helpful and efficient. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. My only gripe with the hotel was our room. It was clean, and well equipped, but and this is probably due to the age of the building. Very small, only window overlooked a void in the hotel, so little natural light and you could see into other room across the void. And there was no fridge so our fruit didn't fare too well.
