Great stay in central Seoul with an amazing staff

Short stay in Seoul. Centrally located with a confortable room, although not much natural light in the room i was in. Most important the front desk staff was amazing, offering to help me out of a bit of a jam.

Booked the hotel same day. The room felt clean but there was a strange smell, not mold, that made you feel uncomfortable. and the sheets on the bed and the pillows had stains. The location was great! But they are really bad at English in the hotel and the service is bad, we asked for breakfast bags but it was not possible. Also we got wrong directions from the hotel 2h with metron wrong. But if you want a cheap hotel located in a local neighborhood. 2 metro stops from the central station.

Smart modern room with some stylish features. Lacking a safe and some extra plug sockets. Good to have included breakfast with nice options. Staff very friendly and hotel is in great location for getting around the city.

Great Location but Disappointing

Great location in central Seoul. So many sites within walking distance. A lot of cafés, restaurants, coffee houses in the area. Room was nice sized but needed a deep cleaning. Furnishings needed a good dusting. Very little wardrobe space with just 2 hangers, no drawers, no luggage rack. Breakfast was simple but ok. Front desk staff was most kind, helpful.

This is old , dark , dirty hotel. The room has huge bath tub but such waste of space. They should use this space for sink, closet and cabinet . The whole hotel is dark and gloomy , the breakfast was so basic and is served in the basement where it smells of sewage . I could not wait to get out of there

The hotel is a few minute walk to the bus and metro station. When I checked out I could leave the suitcases at the hotel. The staff were really helpful! When I asked if they had a space to freshen up, they gave me a key to a room! All credits to the staff. I could really recommend staying there!

Very comfortable hotel in old Seoul

Very comfortable hotel based in strategic position of old Seoul. The hotel is based just 10 min by foot from subway line 1 and 3, close to hundred of mini market and restaurants. Nice location for tourists but the room are comfortable even for people like me that visit for Business. Wifi in the room is very good. The hotel declares no breakfast included but actually they offer every morning a nice selection of salad, egg, bread, fruits, jam, juice and coffee.

Very convenient area with lots of restaurants and convenience store, including an Olive Young, around the hotel. Less than 5 mins walk to Train and Bus stations. 1 bus ride away from Incheon Airport. Close to Tapgol Park and Jewelry shops around Jung-no area. Few blocks away from Myeongdong. Hotel room is well kept with free simple breakfast, daily water bottle refill. Just bring your own toothbrush. I’d definitely book this hotel again.

Three nights in Seoul

This hotel is just amazing! I stayed there for three nights and had a fantastic time. The room was very nice, good conditions and very clean. But the best part was the staff. All of them spoke very good english and was so helpful. The aria around was perfect if you want restaurants and bars, but only a few minuts walk, you can reach shopping center. There are some very nice palaces around. I will fore sure go back there next time I'm in Seoul.

Convenient location, but need more cleaning

The hotel is located at very touristy and busy area of the city centre. I enjoyed the convenient location and the availability of convenience stores and cafés. Though the rooms are relatively large, it was very dusty and the bed sheets occasionally stained. On my first day I found a dirty sock and trash under the bed. On the positive side I found the bed to be comfy, the windows surprisingly soundproof, but the room was very hot, even on «cold» days. The staff knows very little English, so anything beyond the simple instructions and per usual checkin-checkout-dialogue, it was harder to communicate. They were nonetheless helpful and friendly still. I also enjoyed the complimentary two bottles of water provided every day.

Good room, nice area

The room was lovely. The bed comfortable and the room smart. The bathroom offered little privacy which might not be ideal for some people. The breakfast was free and in a basement. However we saw the guy serving go to the toilet (to which the door was open to the dining room) with his gloves on and not change his gloves after. Gloves are very unhygienic when combined with such behaviour. This was quite off putting! The room was noisy at times due to people shouting late at night and building work in a nearby building in early morning. But it wasn’t too bad. None of the tours would pick up from this hotel we had to travel to Myengdong

The hotel itself is rather shabby and dark. Our room had almost no natural light. The reception area is cramped and littered with boxes and storage. The rooms are very small and we were stepping over our luggage most of the time. The hotel is always humid for some reason. The staff were old men who were friendly but somewhat intimidating. The location is killer though. You could throw a rock and hit Jongno 3 station. Ikseongdong and Insadong are like 1 minute walk away. You cant beat the location.

Overall its a perfect area couldn't be better with 2 train stations next to each other and and many things to see by food. Unfortunately the room does not get cleaned unless you go directly to the reception . The door hanger wasnt enough... also the furniture looks bit old now and would need a good clean. Be aware the whole bathroom is a see-through bathroom. So from the bed you can see to the toilet and shower. It was a really expensive stay for a 2 star hotel and for that money i wouldnt recommend it again. Unless its the only choice , you cant make anything wrong here. And really nice service as well.

We had a comfortable stay in The May Hotel. Pros: -enough space for us to open 2 of our carry on luggages. -separate shower and toilet (very important for us when looking for hotel to book) -relatively quiet. -mattress, pillows, comforter are all super comfortable!! Even more comfortable than our home fr. The mattress was heaven for us (we like firm and my hubby doesn’t sink in it unlike our bed at home lol😂) -so many local eateries nearby which we really -quick bus ride to Myeong-dong, though you can walk it if you wanted to. We chose to take bus as we’re pacing ourselves with so much walking over the course of 2.5wks lol -washroom -robes -vibrating sound of footsteps

The May Hotel is centrally located within walking distance to many shopping areas recommended as must see in Seoul. The rooms are on the smaller size but are very clean. Staff are very attentive and having breakfast included is a great perk.
